This is a question for the big deadlifters here. So end of last year my max was 230, then I stopped pulling all together and now I've recently started again. Naturally it was down from the last time I pulled but I'm back up again now and currently at 220x4. I'm quite confident that this coming Friday I will make 220x5. I've jumped aboard a challenge for a 250 pull by September, but personally I'm shooting for 280 (I feel like 250 is around the corner).

In order of the weeks since I've started doing them again, the working sets have looked like this:
W1 - 160x10
W2 - 180x10, 220x3
W3 - 220x4

So it only took me 3 weeks to get back to where I left off. I know that now progressing on it will be hard again so my question is this. Do I keep pulling 220 each week and try and add a rep every time or should I change down to say 200 every second week?

At 220, I do 5 reps, although I can do more. Then I jump to 260, do two reps (separate, about 5 minute rest in between), and then one of 265. I have only managed to get a 265 lift about 2 weeks ago. I find if I went on with 220 for maybe 8 reps, I'm ****ed and struggle with 260. Same with warm-ups. If I warm up too much (rowing machine, etc), I'm actually too tired to go to my max. :o

NOTE: The important thing is to keep your form correct, otherwise you risk injury and that will be the end of deadlifting and squatting for you ;)

Guys mught be a seriously retarded question but must you take a 30 second break between reps or sets? im thinking its sets?

Sweet going to get the stability ball and weights out :D Thanks guys

wait...how do you guys stretch/warm up for weights? im only lifting 7.5 dumbbells(its all I got).

I have started a muscle gain program from health24, it seems quite nice. I don't want to look like a bodybuilder, just want to build a bit of muscle. I asked at the gym shop thing and the guy showed me this protein stuff that they just got in that has creatine in it as well... He said it is super good.

I thought creatine is like err cheating?

Do any of you guys know where I can get my hands on prohormones with PCT supps aswell in CPT?

Got a question on the dosage of my supplements.

I initially bought Evox synergy whey, and the dosage was 1 serving (32 g = 2 scoops) with 200 - 300 ml water/milk. Got the smallish scoop in the tub.

Now i am trying 5XL muscle meal and the dosage is mix 2 scoops (50g) with water etc. Got a big 50ml scoop in the tub.

My question is, how can 2 big scoops only equal 50g with the 5XL, when 2 small scoops of the synergy whey equals 32g?

Are these guys just putting any old scoop in their tubs without keeping in mind what they print on their products?

I didn't even get a scoop in my tub which I bought last Saturday (Synergy Whey).... Using my previous SSN scoop now :(

5XL has carbs in it man. That scoop contains more than just protein. You wouldn't get both the protein AND the carbs in a small scoop like the whey shake which is only a protein supp.

I am sure that scoop is in there dude, must be at the bottom somewhere though.

Fully aware the 5XL has carbs in it. The dosage on the tub and the scoop size seem to be inconsistent. If i took two scoops of 5xl, i am sure it would be more them 50g.

Can I just say---> Evox Synergy Whey Strawberry flavor is the BEST tasting shake I've ever had! (well, given I haven't tasted MuscleTech's yet). I'll drink it like cool drink the whole day.

Has anyone here ever diet down for a show or something? I ask because I'm taking my diet to the next step. Basically for the last 3 months I've been slowly cutting carbs and now for the last 8 weeks I've been TRYING to hold my weight (although I gained 6kgs during all of this) while on low carbs. Now I've decided to throw in morning and post workout cardio. Naturally I'm worried I will lose muscle and strength. Mostly afraid of losing strength than muscle though really. I've read countless times that carb cycling while cutting is the best option and brief HIIT cardio post workout is the best way.

I've also read countless times that these are NOT the best ways. What I've basically come to is that everyone reacts differently to these things. Some can easily hold onto mass and strength while doing up to 2 hours of cardio 4x a week. I'd like to hear from you guys what has worked for you. I'm by no means big by bodybuilding standards. I'm 6'2, 119.5kgs, around 20-23%BF and I'd like to hold onto what muscle and strength I have. So if anyone can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I am started something similar this morning. I always workout at night and then after my workout I do 40mins of cardio, this week I am including 30mins of cardio in the morning as well. Most of what I have read online recommend only doing 45mins max cardio a day after that you start to burn muscle.

Yup, great tasting shake. I got the lime as well, and that tastes crap. Think i will stick with strawberry.

Yeah, I got a small 500g Lime with it (was a promotional package or something), and it really tastes crap. Strawberry FTW :p

Have you guys tried their vanilla flavour ?

I always buy strawberry and last month got vanilla by mistake and I am loving it.

the taste is similar to that 99c ice cream McDonald's used to sell.

Awesome, will give it a try. Has anyone used VPX N.O. Shutgun before? I'm thinking of buying it. Well, it's between that, Gaspari SuperPump 250 or MuscleTech naNO Vapor.
