@Ghost02, a colleague pointed out the USN workout programmes for me. I've been gyming for about a year but still am uncertain if i am on the right track in everything that I am doing. Anyways, I havent done these USN workouts, as I have recently started with a personal trainer to see what he can teach me (3 of 12 sessions completed so far).

If u can get yourself a Virgin Active gym membership, the branches I have been to, the fitness instructors that patrol the gym are quite helpful and seem quite knowledgeable.

Thanks, I can do the gym thing at the moment though unfortunately. I did however buy the bench, dumbbells, barbell and weights. I'll have a look at that routine though thanks. If anyone else can give me a list of basic excises with this equipment just to start off it would be great, eg chest - bench presses, arms - curls etc. Just need stuff that isn't to advanced for now just to get me into it. Thanks :)

@ryan411, that workout program seams awesome though, think I'll start with that and modify as needed :)

Has anyone ever used Jack3d from USP Labs? Those stuff looks potent. Just looking for some reviews before I buy it.

Don't even bother brah. I've been very dissapointed using Jack3d. ALL the reviews I read people couldn't stop raving about it and how potent it is. Been using it this last week and it has done nothing for me. First i tried it with 1.5 scoops...nothing. On Wednesday...2 heaped scoops, still nothing. Yesterday I basically starved(since you have to take it on an empty stomach) myself the whole day and took 3 scoops..still nothing. Wasted R400 on that ****.

Anyone tried Superpump250?
 
You never ate the whole day so you can take a pre workout supp?

I didnt eat for bout 3.5 hours since I normally eat around every 2.5 hours. The previous times I used Jack3d I ate an hour before so I wanted to make sure I got the full effect...which I didnt.

Have you used Jack3d btw?

Why, on EARTH, do you guys wana pump pills down your bodies? Go natural pls tog...I love going to the gym, benching my bodyweight and then walking off to spinning class...as I do that, I look at you ous that walk around after pushing a measly 30kg i each arm for curls and then walk around with your shoulders shrugged???WTF???? Why do you guys walk like that? YOU'RE not THAT big jeeez...Ronie is big...Clay is big, but these wana be bodybuilders you find in the gymnowadays with vests on and tatoos for Africa...ha ah...sorry guys, stick to your day job, let your shoulders down, and stop banging the damn weights and shouting at each other...you guys look like douchebags!

LMAO...no bodybuilders are mad...in CT/JHB/KBY/PE, I was in those cities for more than 6 months and in the gyms and ALL big looking guys...well, you know, they bang weights and scream at each other to finish rep number 6...

on the other hand...I"ve seen Ronie's vids...and he's a bloody body builder! What's his foe's name?

I generally gym just to stay healthy, three to four sessions a week of about an hour. I alternate between weights and cardio.

I've started supplementing my diet with a whey protein supplement because I'm finding I'm getting stronger but I'm getting sinewey instead of a bit bulkier which I wouldn't mind. This seems to be working.

Here is the question:Should I drink the protein supplement an hour or two before gyming or should I be taking it just after my workout?

I have heard about some people that take their whey before going to gym, but from everything I have read the general consensus is to take it 30-60 minutes after your workout.

Edit: As part of my eating plan I drink one shake in the morning and another 30mins after going to the gym. I go to gym at 8pm then there are less people and no waiting to use something. Evox whey also contain casein protein so it takes longer to release.

Casein separates from milk when milk is curdled; a process commonly carried out in the manufacturing of cheese. Casein tends to form a �gel� in the stomach, which slows the digestion. This makes casein an ideal protein source to use right before bed, as it may release protein into the bloodstream over a period of time during sleep. Casein is also very high in the amino acid glutamine, a �conditionally essential� amino acid necessary for repair of muscle tissue after strenuous exercise.

I usually take my protein shakes pre and post workout and casein before i go to bed.
 
About the protein. I'm using Evox Synergy whey, which is a casein whey. Drink 1 in the morning, 1 after workout and one before going to bed.

I dont use any pre workout supps anymore, I know what you saying and they all recommend taking on an empty stomach be it a NO supp/gakic/jacked, but fasting the whole day sounded a bit extreme ;)

What's more amazing is the fact that he is able to actually discuss things here but is just too p!ss scared to do it in the CA section. (Yeah I know, it's a scary place :D)
