It looks like my workouts will not go accordingly because my gym doesn't have 1.25KG or 2.5KG plates. 5KH is the minimum. So I can only increase my weights by 10KG minimu. Eish I will stall for weeks.

Did chest this morning for the first time ever.... it's quite humbling to see how weak you really are at first :/

Deadlifts and squats :o I currently only have 7.5 kg dumbbells,a 12kg kettle bell, stability ball and an exercise bike.

40kg for deadlift and squats might be to light, you'll progress past that weight quickly. My SO can squat and DL more than that, and she's small:p

I see that trojan are selling a 40kg barbell for R800,what you guys think?

Weights are expensive these days, I remember in 2000 paying R20 for a 5KG plate, wish I had stocked up in those days.

Oh I thought it was those barbells with the fixed weights (saw some at Makro a while back) but yeah if you can buy more plates later it's a good idea

Oh eish,I must double check then. I thought you could add more weights to all of them :o Such a noob.

depends, also will the bar handle extra weight?

frankly dude i think you should rather go to the classifieds and buy some used decent stuff, or better invest in going to a gym.

Milk

*Edit
Yes the farting is awesome until the head of IT(female) walks in and has to breathe your exploding gut as well

theres your problem right there....mixing with milk has the same effect on me. i can drink milk plain with no effect so im not lactose intolerant but as soon as i mix it with protien powder... i can clear a room:twisted:

try it with water for a few days and see if that helps...works for me.

What protein powder are you guys taking?
I have only ever had stomach issues with USN, Muscle something or other products.
EVOX and BSSA I have not had any issues.

i have the milk problem with any protien powder -- optimum 100%, evox, evox synergyx, usn -- all give me SUPER poops when drinking with milk. but a plain 500ml of milk i have no problems with.

Optimum Nutrition actually has lactase included to help with lactose intolerance just out of interest sake, noticed it the other day on the ingredient list.

I personally use Optimum Nutrition, it tastes the best of them all for me at least, and is rated pretty highly on bb.com. It goes with water however, rarely drink it with milk.

Only thing is it is very expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for.
Isn't it R475 for 1kg?

For those of you having shoulder pain (I remember Xrapidx mentioning something like it), this is a good view:

Thats about right, though its usually slightly lower than that at Dischem, works out R800 for 2.3kg or something like that, depending on where you buy it. If I import it I can get it for R500 for 2.3kg before the customs/shipping are added, and generally speaking I get newer stock when I import it than the local stuff so.....basically I find it very difficult to support the local shops nowadays.

The only problem I have is, I have to watch the $/R closely, like now stuff is going south again, but at least I have most of my supps that I currently need.

That's chop says scrap upright row altogether?? Wtf. What do you guys rate?

I dunno, I haven't done it much, but it is in the program I started recently...

Now the previous year, I have done almost exclusively only overhead barbell presses for shoulders, and my shoulders have no problems whatsoever, and they have grown, so this guy might be on to something. I for one don't want my shoulders to get hurt now, so I am looking at what else I can do for shoulders on my hypertrophy days.

Options are Lumberjack Press or 3-way Laterals. I am leaning towards doing 3-way laterals instead of the upright rows, though I might have to change the order around a bit in my program. According to another article on bb.com, one should work the rear delts 1st, then the middle and lastly the front delts.
