Back from holiday, I lost 2.5kg, my diet went south after first few days of holiday at the coast.
Went through 4 cases of Amstel, about 6 Chocolate bars with the wife and plenty cake and other stuff that comes with X-Mas and Mom's cooking :)

BUT always had oats for breakfast and no sugar in coffee, I never had accesive stuff your face fool meals, mostly veg and meat.

Did a light workout yesterday, a tad stiff.

Not defensive at all. I do not use any kind of supplement, so I wouldn't know which brand to go for ;) I'm just curious as to what makes people think that one is better than the other, other than taste and mixability of the powder. But I see that it gives you gas also LOL. :p Strange that other brands would not give you gas. I recall a friend saying that he also had that issue when he started using supplements (can't remember the brand, it was years back), but it went away after a while.
Well as an example, Optimum Nutritions protein shakes add lactase, an enzyme which helps digest dairy products, so even if you take the protein with milk, the lactase help with digestion, and as a result...no gas!

People that are lactose intolerant, needs lactase to help digest milk, yogurt, ect.

need to start pre cooking chicken on a Sunday, think it will last refrigerated until a friday? or freeze rather?

I braai about 12 pieces on Sunday and then freeze in containers, can last for months.

OK, I see, thanks! ;)

Doesn't it taste crappy?

I baste, allow to cool then in the freezer, nope tastes awesome even after being defrosted, goes in my salads as well.

Nice if it's a crispy on outside, DULL without basting sauce.

shot, think I will freeze say the Thursday and Friday stuff and refrigerate the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday stuff just to avoid some siffness, doesn't help if I can't train being sick.

Anyone know of a decent cheap spinning bike? I need something for cardio in the evening. It must be able to handle 100kg - 120kg.

try gumtree.co.za or game (Trojan bikes are value for money)

Why don't you rather run and take up crossfit?
Biking hurts me ass, always feel I'm not doing the nads any favours as well.

How does Evox fair in that regard?

Yeh, been looking there, but have no clue on whats good or not.

I'd prefer running, but can't - feels like my shins have shattered the next day, tried working through it, but can't - its one of the things I want to get checked this year.

funny enough, I worked myself up to a comfortable 4.5km/20min in Aug/Sep last year - and I had no problems for about two months, went on honeymoon, came back - and suddenly the pain was back.

I honestly don't know.

I have the same problem with my shins and running, decided to just not run at all. But if you do figure out what it is, lemme know I would be very interested to hear your findings.

I'm hoping its something they can fix with insoles/shoes... want to be able to take my dog for a 5km run :)

Same problem here, my shins just kill me.
Esp when I was running 5km+ on tar whilst being on holiday.

Hi Guys

I'm interested to find out if anyone has some gym and fitness related new years resolutions?

Some will say its BS and it wont work bla bla, but I do believe that its possible to reach your goals if they not too unrealistic + if you have the proper motivation.

I have been gymming 3 to 4 times a week for the last 2 years, and although I have seen some very good results Ive decided its time to push the tempo up a bit.

I've gained 3.5kg over the festive season (lack of exercise and drinking too much beer) and my short term goal is obviously to lose that and long term double that.

To achieve these goals I've: 1. Adjusted my training program to incorporate high intensity interval training. 2. No Alcohol for the month of Jan (will adjust this accordingly once I start seeing results) 3. Switching to a low carb high protein and fruit and veg diet.

I know its only the 7th of Jan, But Im happy with my progress so far, I haven't cheated once.

Im interested to hear what other members have to say! :D

Mine is to consistently go to gym 3 or 4 times a week and lose 5kg (the more the better but my work hours really doesn't help with weight gain). I behaved myself over the festive season for once so that's a god start :D

My resolutions for this year is to just keep doing what ive been doing up until now, and to keep doing it, so nothing new really in the fitness front.

As for qualifications, will be working on that this year.
