The Brexit Thread

Why do so many Brexiters seem to think trade deals mean the UK gets everything it wants without 'giving' anything in return? It's weird.

Could be the same brain malfunction that has bremoaners thinking open borders is the only way a trade deal would be possible, or that there will be another referendum, that's always a good one ... :D

Seeing how it goes, within 6 months, the Brexit department won’t have any employees, so no need for a new referendum and no trade deals.

You realize the clock to formal brexit keeps ticking regardless of how big a staff complement is assigned to care right? :erm:

Nope The Nordic countries and Switzerland are thriving.

U.K. Needs a fast break dirty or otherwise so it can start negotiating real trade deals around the world without the deadweight EU and the idiots of Brussels around her neck hampering every move because they want a juicy divorce settlement. I say stuff the EU . Leave now before the quagmire gets stickier and leaving becomes impossible as some chumps would like

I don’t understand the comparison. You refer to six countries. Three of them are EU members and the remaining three are members of the European Economic Area. Therefore, all six of them participate in the single market, including the free movement of labour, products and services.

Isn’t that exactly what the UK wants to eliminate?

There can't be a formal Brexit if there's nobody to effect it, you bell-end.

It was effected the moment Article 50 got triggered, do try to keep up. The formal exit is now on autopilot, further engagement is only required if interested parties want to shape what the exit looks like. The timing and fact that there will be an exit though is already settled.

That's the theory.

Do you think anybody in the UK government is dumb enough to leave without any exit treaty, trade agreements, debt settlement plan and so on ? There will most likely be an extension of the two years period, as much as I would love to see UK collapse.

An extension would surely need to be negotiated and agreed to by both parties, what motivation does the EU have for an extension if they truly believe they have the upper-hand at the negotiating table?

Why would you love to see the UK collapse

In the last months, if a deal is clearly not reachable, they will agree to an extension as their goal is not to sink the UK.

To prevent other countries from leaving the EU and as a repayment for the wonderful 44 years where they have blocked as much as they could every single drop of European integration.

My 2c: between the USA and the UK the quality of the *******s being voted into power is actually quite sickening. I would venture to say that all normal people should not be allowed to vote and the mentally disabled, who are OBVIOUSLY FAR SUPERIOR in IQ should do the voting and I am sure the world will return to an inhabitable planet once again.
