MLP made a speech again yesterday with that old fallacy, saying that migrants earn more than French pensioners.
And no, they can't
Not that anyone said anything about French pensioners, but ok, I'll bite.

What is the ratio of GDP generated for France over their lifetime vs the benefits they get for:
A: French pensioners
B: "migrants" in France

?

A: French pensioners who get the minimum pension are the ones who didn't contribute enough to a branch compulsory public pension fund so usually people who have not worked or were unemployed for long periods of time. And benefit of all housing/kids/poverty grants at the same time.
B: Migrants get it only if they are homeless and as long as they don't work.

For the society, the cost of such pensioners is far higher. 436 000 people getting that 868€ minimum pension vs 123 000 migrants at 204€ per month.

So infinitely more than migrants contribute then? Unless you quantify rape and theft as GDP.

So all of them get it for the rest of their lives then?

Well damn, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the argument that migrants get more than pensioners, they sure as hell get more than they deserve, and that could have gone to deserving pensioners.

Go to a restaurant's kitchen and tell me how many of the little hands are migrants. Then tell me how many French refuse to do such job.

Not for the rest of their lives, no. This grant stops as soon as they get granted asylum or as soon as their asylum is rejected so it's a short term grant.

you keep telling yourself that lie

thank god I'm not French, I'd be royally pissed if a single cent of my tax contributions got wasted on such BS
perhaps that's what they deserve though, payback for that shitty airport and shitty attitude toward foreigners (the ones who pay their own way) and their socialist tendencies and surrender addiction. Blegh!

Well, a lot of your tax money goes into that - even here.

socialist tendencies and surrender addiction. Blegh!

And you wonder why we treat you badly?

I feel proud that you noticed how bad we treat you!

And you know what? These paying foreigners are stupid enough to come back and spend more year on year! :sneaky:

France is world champion for tourist destination. With a record number of 87 million international tourists in 2017, a 5.1% increase in one year, France is the world's most visited country.

And you wonder why we treat you badly?
Not wondering, not caring in fact, France can suck it. If only I could rid myself of my French DNA as well, pity that I have quite a few French colleagues these days, mostly intelligent, hard working people, one happens to be a girl who's easily in the top 5 cutest as well.

Ah well, I suppose some Frenchies have to be tolerated, that airport though ... OMFG!!!

I actually had a dinner with a super Afriforum right winger a few weeks ago.

He was trying to get me in his pocket by the French/Huguenot thing and his French surname.

I reminded him that his ancestors were actually expelled by us from France, they got asylum in Netherlands who sent them to SA. He stopped speaking of it.

and yet, we still ended up making better wine ...

Debatable, depends on the point of view.

Better and cheaper daily, mid-range, low-upper range wine - no doubt on this. The SA market is also very standardized, not many varieties and terroirs vs European wines.
Conservation wine and Grand Cru (where price has no bearing), I have yet to see one SA wine matching French ones. Let alone Champagne (real one, not Moet or Veuve crap).

Stuff like this (had this for Christmas):

The cheeses are not even acceptable on the other hand. You should see the money I spend to get real imported cheese, it's ridiculous!

I think you are wrong...it's just that Brexiteers are largely out-numbered...the House of Commons is highly unrepresentative of the country at large in terms of the referendum outcome.

Brexiteers are hugely popular outside the Westminster bubble, as can be seen here (tickets were around 40 quid if I remember correctly). And this is London remember - not really Jacob Rees Mogg friendly territory...imagine if he had a talk in the English countryside!

2,300 people in a city of 14 million?

But what would they have left if they couldn't just breathlessly lie?

I work for a French company. Oh man sometimes the urge to defenestrate some of my colleagues is all to real.

hat’s the problem, there are multiple standards. There’s even a different standard just for UK pallets.

Standard UK pallet is 1200x1000, this new EU pallet is 1200x800, there are also 1200x1200 pallets in use.

EU pallet (note the stamps on the edge).
oh really, tell that to the EU migrants, like this guy in Greece for example ...

Possibly the most dank, ironic and best response on the internet ever. I still disagree with you and literally everything but hats off, this is gold

I see French President Macron, has said any delay needs to be justified. This is GOLD! I hope Germany has the same stance. Brexit here we come!

I would be careful of what I say if I were Macron. England, once the mightiest nation on Earth, should not be trifled with; you'd think that France of all nations would understand this.

The Frenchies helping out the Brexiteers inadvertently. Hehehe. Farage should call up his mates in Eastern Europe to block the extension (EU member states all have to agree to the extension).

WTO agreement secures £1.3 trillion market for British contractors

British businesses will be able to continue bidding for public sector contracts around the world worth more than £1.3 trillion a year after we leave the European Union.

World Trade Organization (WTO) members have today (Wednesday 27 February) confirmed that the UK will join the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) as an independent member if we leave the EU without an agreement.

This is a significant step in the UK establishing its independent trade policy for the first time in more than 40 years. The UK has already submitted its own tariff schedules to the WTO and will take up its independent seat in Geneva after exit day.

The UK will join the GPA as an independent member as soon as possible if we leave the EU without an agreement, or will remain a member under EU schedules if we have an Implementation Period.

BS! Us French Hugenotes fled prosecution because we are Protestant. The Catholic church wanted to hang my forefathers. We weren't expelled, we fled.
