The Brexit Thread

England was a great nation long before the EU existed, and they'll be fine regardless the outcome of Brexit (note that I oppose Brexit). They're not suddenly losing the qualities that made them what they are today just because of leaving the EU. And in the end, sanity on striking a deal will prevail, for whilst the EU is economically much stronger than the UK, having the UK outisde the common market will nonetheless hurt the EU too.

The UK no longer has its colonies.

Single market membership was a major factor in the UK becoming world leaders in finance, tech and other services (after manufacturing declined). Leaving the single market will result in huge hits to these industries, and unfortunately no FTA for goods is going to make up for it.

There is also the sticky problem of reneging on the Good Friday Agreement - still nobody has an answer for this, and it will be a source of pain until eventual Irish reunification.

Epic facepalm of self ownage. Thanks.
I kinda expect people's intelligence on here to be at a level were I don't have to spell everything out.
Think for a moment what is the purpose of the CW.

Tip: Our biggest mining companies are registered on the London stock exchange. Things have changed a bit since the 1900's but in reality it is all still the same.

The intelligence fail is yours, the Commonwealth is not a trading bloc or alliance.

The Charter brings together the values and aspirations which unite the Commonwealth - democracy, human rights and the rule of law - in a single, accessible document.

The Charter expresses the commitment of member states to the development of free and democratic societies and the promotion of peace and prosperity to improve the lives of all peoples of the Commonwealth.

The Charter also acknowledges the role of civil society in supporting the goals and values of the Commonwealth.

Reaffirming the core values and principles of the Commonwealth as declared by this Charter:

He was talking to @buka001, but your level of moron doesn’t really include adequate comprehension of English, does it?

The commonwealth of yester year is over. The dictatorial regimes are largely gone, and the link to our colonial masters have disappeared with it.

We, people of the commonwealth have moved on to those that will provide us the best deal. And oddly enough, because nowadays English is so wide spread....we don't need to deal with the English anymore, even the Chinese and Eastern Europeans can be communicated with easily.

The idjuts who say CW as the future are living in the past

God, all that namby pamby SJW stuff like human rights, tolerance, respect and understanding  don't tell Chris or he'll want to make sure the UK leaves the commonwealth too!

His head will explode when he realises his homeland (Australia) and current residence (South Africa) are also Commonwealth members ;)

You guys like to BS yourself in this way, but when the reality hits even people like Julius Malema went to Britain to go begging for investments.

It's the new PC way of keeping the locals inline.

What on earth has that got to do with the Commonwealth? Especially since Julius has expressed his opinion that SA should leave the Commonwealth?

Nope, as Queen Lizzy is the Head of Commonwealth no such proposal will be put forward by me. However if some uppity Commonwealth member decides to remove the Queen as the head of the Commonwealth, then I will change my opinion.

And lol, do you think any of those principles are even vaguely upheld by most African nations who are part of the Commonwealth?
