The Brexit Thread

In terms of the hard border... I personally don't see any other solution except handing NI back to the Republic of Ireland really... any other solution seems like it will end in bloodshed.
Lol pandering to terrorist.

How were companies supposed to negotiate, if no one knew what type of deal would be in place?

If everyone negotiated on worst case, what is that? Nobody has provided business a clear picture of what this will be?
Don't you have any relationship with important suppliers?

Do you even know what a trade deal is?

Rather pandering to the ordinary people who live in Ireland on both sides of the border.
Then I don't see why there would be bloodshed. We have people that make stupid political decisions and as a ordinary person I have never shed blood because of it.

"Don't Brexit because the terrorist will blow stuff up"

Well, yeah. And the fact that you think it is a little issue that you can wave away shows how clueless you are.

Your choice is to go and read a lot about the history very quickly, or just stop talking about it.

It's not a little issue. I reject the idea that people should try and keep the terrorist happy. They should be shot if they attempt something.

I tend to agree with you, but the government will have no desire to go back to a war on their doorstep.

It would lead to carnage, and with the Tories in bed with the DUP, a referendum will not be on the cards anyway. Interesting times ahead.

Under the Good Friday agreement, I don't think the government would have a choice. They'd have to allow it.

So yeah, you see the can of worms that has been opened.

Outside of remaining in Europe, I honestly cannot think of or imagine a scenario where there will be a peaceful solution.

More peaceful than a hard border. But it means no part of Ireland will be in the UK.

The Unionists will never accept that.

You missed the part where something like 80% of people polled said they would rather rejoin than have a hard border. So maybe the unionists are the 20% who voted no.

Again, not up to the DUP - they have to abide by the GFA.
