The Brexit Thread

If his tactic are to split the Tories in two, then it's a roaring success.

Firing 21 MPs seems to have been a deeply unpopular move. We could be seeing the end of the Tory party.

Even if they wanted to join forces with the Brexit party, Johnson and Farage's egos are too big. Only one of them can be leader, and neither will back down.

The referendum did not specify no deal. In fact, Leave campaigners explicitly rejected leaving without a deal.

Therefore, no deal Brexit would not be honouring the referendum either.

The proper way to honour the referendum would be to vote for May's deal, which nobody wanted to do.
The referendum specified Brexit. That includes no deal if the EU doesn't offer a reasonable deal.

Here's an extraordinary clip showing how the party is being torn apart. I wonder who elected Dominic Cummings btw?

It did not specify no deal. It specified Brexit with a deal.

Again, show me where the leave campaign was for no deal.

It amazes me that Brexiteers think that anti democratic actions like suspending parliament and preventing the Lords from debating a bill are good things to do to get what you want.

It amazes me that Remoaner MPs are batting for the EU and have zero/little faith in the UK. Taking away the no deal means the UK has to accept any crappy deal the EU gives (and the current one is very bad). Any comment on the highly irregular act of pushing through this bill in a day? No, thought not. Both sides can play this game of parliamentary poker.

It amazes me that Brexiteers fall for the us vs them mentality. The EU is not your enemy and never has been. Even after Brexit, the EU will remain the largest trading partner of the UK.

Any crappy deal the EU gives? Remember Johnson was at one point responsible for negotiating the deal. Did you forget that?

Also remember, this deal is not the final deal. This deal does not determine the future relationship - only the relationship during the divorce process. So, whether the UK leaves without a deal or not, it still has to negotiate another deal.

The EU has said, come to us with a better deal. But nobody has done so. Nobody can come up with a better deal.

No deal wins over a Corbyn government by 48% to 35%. Oops.
Shows why it is good to see the actual question asked in a survey. They didn't ask No Deal or Corbyn. Never mind the fact that Corbyn would only be prime minister very briefly and certainly wouldn't have to to launch a second referendum, never mind implement any other policy he favours.

A question I asked some pages back. The moaners have a lot to say about the EU supposedly being run by unelected bureaucrats, but apparently have no problem with Dominic Cummings being handed immense power.

It did not specify no deal. It specified Brexit with a deal.

The proposed question was accepted by the government in September 2015, shortly before the bill's third reading.[50] The question that appeared on ballot papers in the referendum under the Act was:

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?

with the responses to the question to be (to be marked with a single (X)):

Remain a member of the European Union

Leave the European Union
