The Brexit Thread

I would assume that is why it's being shared? wasn't that Corbyn's objective? To smear his opponent. One would assume that it would at least showed a bit of traction if anyone cared. But alas... Boris is going to take it and just like Trump, no amount of crying and whining will change that.
Of course that's why it's been shared, just like any other politician on Twitter, pushing their views.

I never said Trump or Boris wouldnt take it, I'm also not crying and whining. I simply asked what an acceptable number of tweets etc are in your view. At what point do you consider it getting traction, 100k likes? 1 million? 16 million? All the likes on Twitter?

Not to smear his opponent, no. A smear is a false accusation or slander, much like the Tories do all the time. The video shows facts, unfortunately, not smears

Ok, not smear, place Boris in a bad light?

Obviously didn't get the response he hoped :D

That's not at all true.

Have you actually looked what the polling was?

Yes. Unlike most in this thread, I was actually in the UK while it was happening. The majority of available news outlets were reporting live on polls heavily leaning towards Remain throughout the day. Even bookies had Remain as a banker, as did the trading world (which is why markets tanked overnight when Leave won).

I mean, that's just not accurate. You can see in that link a raft of polls from less than a week before the referendum favouring a leave outcome. And even the majority of ones favouring remain are well within the margin of error and very close.

Yup, even though I wasn't in the UK, the broad thrust of the media was thinking Remain would win as well as the betting markets (https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...n/24/bookies-got-eu-vote-wrong-ladbrokes-says). I was actually somewhat sceptical of the betting markets myself as although I don't have data to prove it, wealthier people who tend to be pro EU were placing larger bets than the average Leave voting punter, influencing the markets, but not due to "facts on the ground".

There was also a poll on the day that had Remain winning 55-45 as well as all the secret polls commissioned by hedge funds.

I was leaning towards a hung parliament again, however I think this Brexit fark up might have turned people towards Boris. My vote is on Conservative with a majority, small but a Majority.
I think Corbyn will be celebrating a victory. With a 47 seat Tory majority. The "could have been worse" story would come in play again

Regardless of what happens today, if we could just ****ing get on with it that would be great. I'm sick of hearing bullshit from both sides - of hearing about Brexit. If the Tories win, get it done! If Labour wins, cancel it! I really don't care anymore.

100% this actually...

One side just need to win enough to actually fscking do something.

Granted, I have my personal preference, but since I can't vote in the elections the preference is irrelevant...
