They've been quietly paying it, did you expect them to do something different?
Actually they have just been paying the membership fees that reduce the amount.

Shame, EU bullies don't know how to negotiate, all they know is how to demand and tell countries what to do, they are surprised everytime Boris gives them the finger. Hahah

The EU set out their position at the beginning, the UK side has changed theirs a few times but the EU made their point and then stuck to it, that's how things generally work when it's not equals negotiating.

Like the trade agreement positions? Remember when they were talking about giving UK a trade deal like Canada in 2017, but then changed their attitude to that?

I think you have the wrong link?
Nope, it's the correct link
You just never know with the uk, they can't be trusted so their 'deals' aren't worth the paper the written on. One day they agree to something, the next they break the agreement. One day they reject something, the next they complain about not getting what they rejected. It's a wonder the EU has shown such tolerance to their shenanigans

You weren't away that Theresa May was the Prime Minister at the time?
Yes, Theresa May, the anti-brexit remainer prime minister that campaigned to remain in the EU before refurendum.
That's where I got the quote from
The Florence speech when she said "No deal is better than bad deal" and then went on to deliver the worst deal possible, and then went back on that statement.

Lets be frank here, she couldn't even negotiate a deal with her own party, mind about the EU. Probably best we try forget about Theresa May like it never happened, she was just an embarrassment of a prime minister, and her dancing didn't win her any fans

What's this I hear about the EU wanting 60% of the UK's fishing waters? lmao.
They started off demanding unrestricted access forever. They then changed their position to 10 years or something, which was laughed at again.

Boris didn't do any better did he? That's why there is no deal because people like you want the impossible

Well it was always going to be difficult. We voted to Leave, Cameron resigned, May took over and turned it into a proper shitshow because she was Remain-bias, and Boris came in and picked up the pieces and had to run with it after May resigned.

Would probably have been a very different story if he had the entire 4 years to work with instead of just a year and a bit (the majority of which has been spent trying to deal with a pandemic).
