Your analogy is bit off :) They are asking an old investment banker whose very dated licence happens to allow him to drive a certain level of hgv. It’s more like asking a retired bricklayer who studied biology at school to assist in open heart surgery

Edit: this may not be far fetched. There is a massive backlog for surgery in the U.K.

At the end of the day, if you have a license to perform a task, that means you are licensed to perform that task of the license is valid.

Still has no relation to the EU though? In fact, if a miracle occured and the EU self destructed, Germany would still exist, the Germans in UK would still live in UK, and they would still have their German licenses, and the UK could still ask them for help.

Well, my wife has just taken out private medical insurance for family so that if we need some treatment or surgery, we can basically jump the queue.

This was a direct reaction to our 3 year old having persistent ear infection which seems to have been caused by the grommit falling out but getting stuck in ear canal. They said we need to see and ENT doctor, but there's a waiting period for 3 months.

Not sure, but I understood clearly that he was referring to the small group of idiots on the M25 inconveniencing thousands before everyone else decided to take it personally (they were literally talking about that at the time). The fact that he later on had to spell it out for people pretty much sums up the victimhood mentality of today's society.
