Hi, I've been eyeing this thread a few times due to "uptime" issues that I have had with my ISP - the screaming lot
I found a great service @
www.pingdom.com that offer free (single site... in this case my router) monitoring and have all fancy graphs and history... AND email alerts as site go Up or Down. For my purpose this works great so that I have a stick to throw at my ISP if needed.... but since the sign-up my connection never went down (until recent cold and power failures)... seems like the regular traffic every 5mins stabilized the connection through the night.
So this is definitely not 100% uptime like what you guys try to reflect (I selected 5 mins interval checks)... but it is quite neat to have ongoing monitoring to show how consistent a connection is in the longer term (months?).
Here is link to my stats :
http://stats.pingdom.com/0lkaizccqs8f/387680 You have to enable public reporting if you want others to see. LOL just squint at the last weeks data - that was mostly cold/power fail related - look at history tab for beginning of August - that paints a much better picture.
Anyone daring to show just how good iBurst really is ??? I might consider switching
PS... Absolutely no spam email received and no advertising on the site... the pingdom guys actually wrote a personal email a few days after joining the 'free' service asking how I experienced it... and even replied to my reply. So they provide a good service.
Now get back to monitoring ur uptimes!
