BYD's Song L SUV interior revealed, sales to commence by the end of the year

BYD officially announced its premium mid-size SUV, the Song L, back in August, but didn't show the interior. It only shared pictures of the exterior and a couple of key specs. We know it will ship in two main configurations - one with a single electric motor capable of outputting 308 hp, and a dual-motor version with 510 hp.

We now get to see the interior, which features a clean and simple design and closely resembles the initial sketches. There's a big, centered LCD screen and a separate instrument cluster screen.

It looks like not everything is going to be controlled via the main infotainment screen as we can see are physical keys spread around the gear shift and the console.

BYD to unveil Sea Lion 07, new supercar platform and concept car on Nov 17

BYD will headline the upcoming Guangzhou auto show this Friday with the launch of the Sea Lion 07 SUV, as well as a new supercar platform and concept car under the Yangwang premium brand.

The Sea Lion 07 sits under BYD's Ocean Series and is based on the carmaker's e-Platform 3.0, created by global Design Director Wolfgang Josef Egger's team. The Sea Lion 07 will compete head-on with Tesla's most popular Model Y.

The Sea Lion 07 will have BYD's Oceanic Aesthetic design language and will take after BYD's Ocean X concept. The e-Platform 3.0 has integrated blade batteries in the car body for superior rigidity, an an all-wheel drive electric powertrain and a promise of up to 1,000 km of range. Odds are that refers to an EREV version, but we'd be happy to be proven wrong and to get that from a BEV car.

BYD celebrates 6 millionth electrified car rolling off assembly

BYD just celebrated its 6 millionth NEV car rolling off the assembly line. The car in question is a Bao 5 model from BYD's Fangchengbao sub-brand. BYD took a commemorative photo and thanked all the people - travelers and supporters - who have helped make this possible. BYD adds that it's the first car company to achieve 6 million new energy vehicles.

It took BYD 13 years to reach the 1 million NEV milestone. Last year on November 16, the carmaker saw its 3 millionth NEV unit produced. In August of this year, BYD announced it had produced its 5 millionth NEV and now, a little over three months later, it's sitting on number 6.
