Hi guys.

Can anyone suggest reputable seed banks in SA and also, please share with me which strains are best for cpt climate. I will be growing outdoor so will need to be an auto flower as time is crucial.

Considering our weather of course. This is all new to me. Also, is it possible to grow any seed outdoor? I know genetics play a huge role in success, thus this post.

IIRC there's a specific growers/growing thread on the forum, so you may get better feedback there.

Cheese is a good strain for cpt weather and also easy to grow for beginners.

For photo-periodic plants, the best option is to buy clones because then you know that if the grow goes well you will have good weed. 2Nd best option is to buy feminized seeds, but then it is not guaranteed good weed. It might just be a bad gene/phenotype. 3Rd option is no buy regular seeds and then it is like the risk of option 2 plus it might be male, and you will only see at the start of flowering that its male.

Autos have the same risk as option 2. Another added risk is that because it goes quicker, grow mistakes hit harder.

You can not start to grow anything now outdoors. It is now the start of flowering season. There is not enough light per day for the vegging phase, autos or not. You will have to wait for spring to plant.

Fast buds has genetics that can basically grow all year round. Their seeds have specially been bred for climates similar to ours so I may just try them out. I know that the growth and yield will be affected but I don't mind the knock. I'm just very eager to get going as I recently got my own place. I believe that sativa strains are best suited for our land.

You can grow all year round, but if you plant now you will not have a harvest until end April 2023. The plant will be big and old, and lived through the stress of winter. I also did this for my 1st grow, I planted this time of year and grew through the winter. The weed turned out unsmokable bad and I lost the battle with insects over such a long growing time. Growing takes a lot of effort, rather do it right, plant at the correct time and don`t grow too long. 6 Months is max time for a grow. However, if you just want plants to grow big and don`t care about harvest result, you can plant now and the plants should be able to live through winter.

Sativas are natural to African soil but Cheese I would say is even more robust than any Sativas. They grow good Cheese in UK weather.

If it is autos then this means they will flower in the middle of winter, this is just not going to work, but you can give it a try. Autos want 24 hour light.

Slurricane on left.

I walked into the local shop and bought these bud verified clones for R150 each. This is 1 week into flowering. Just look at that Buddha, flat and wide af! The Slurricane is looking great as well, it was much smaller as a clone buy time then 3 weeks ago she awoke and grew like a mofo.

MrWeeDeliver down for anyone else? Their site is redirecting to an unrelated electric motor company in Germiston.

Also open to any other site suggestions :)

Sorry I haven’t looked through the whole thread but is Elixir Extract good? Do they have good bud?
Have you used elixir extract for two orders and super impressed with the service and delivery! Damn the edibles are FIRE !

Sarel, did you wait the rest of the day just to make that post at that specific time

:ROFL: I hadn't even noticed. What an astonishing coincidence! Normally I'd be using it to pick my nose while watching Wielie Walie reruns (well, when I'm not blowing smoke thru my nostrils) so for my finger to have pressed send at that exact moment in the space-time continuum is Truly Magical.
