The Cannabis Thread #2

Grow tents. Vivosun, ACInfinity someone selling in South Africa?
Was informed by AC Infinity to reach out to Rock and Rolled as they are a local AC Infinity distributor. I've had been looking locally for AC for the Advance Grow Tent 4x4 kit to no avail. It's $999 for the kit directly from AC Infinity, then $899 shipping to door and then customs as well 😅 Definitely worth it but I have not bit the bullet yet.

Any recommendations, on a certain brand, or product perhaps?

I'm in Gauteng, maybe a shop / store recommendation ?
If you are JHB side you can try Soul Cafe in Sunninghill.

If you are PTA side, 420 Twig on Rubenstein, Moreleta Park.

Hydroponic.co.za stocks AC Infinity. I'm quite impressed with the low noise and power of the extraction fans. I need to get the controller one day.

I normally order online which takes some time to get to you but I ran out unexpectedly and only had the driest jut left so I decided to take a swing past my local "social club" expecting to get ripped off but surprisingly the price was good and decent looking product, R100 for 3g of "Raspberry". They weren't bothered with me not having a membership and I could pay with my card/phone, friendly guys.

What experience/prices have others had with social clubs?

Around here we have four stores, none bother with the “social club” nonsense. You have to register but it’s free. We have Cannafrica, Nature’s Farmacy, Merry-Jane and Cruise Easy. I don’t order online anymore, the quality is crap and doesn’t match the photos they post on their websites. R50-R70/g is typical starter price with discounts if you buy more. And every suburb has some guy growing and selling now, in mine it’s for R35/g.

I've had some good experiences online, normally best to get a referral from someone that have used the vendor before and stick with a strain that works for you but most charge around R100 just for delivery and it can take a while to arrive.

How do the small time guys sell/advertise their weed, word of mouth I suppose?

Was approached at the local pub.

Hey everyone 👋

I’m busy working on a passion project documentary about cannabis in South Africa — then vs now.
It’s a non-profit project, just trying to tell real stories and show different sides of the conversation.

I already have a few interviews lined up (doctor, social club, cultural voices), but I’m still looking for more people who might be open to sharing their experience.

Looking for:

People who use cannabis or CBD for medicinal / wellness reasons

Also anyone who turned to it after doctors or meds didn’t really help

Adults (18+) in the Northern Suburbs (Cape Town)

Comfortable speaking on camera (we can chat about privacy)

Stuff the doc will touch on:

Cannabis in SA: how it used to be vs how it is now

Stigma (especially from older generations)

Medicinal / wellness use (personal stories, not advice)

Changing laws and what that actually means in real life

Social clubs and community spaces

Cultural and spiritual views

What the law changes mean for people affected in the past

Just to be upfront:

This is non-profit — no one’s getting paid

It’s respectful, chilled, and conversation-based

There’ll be a release form if footage is used

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), feel free to DM me and we can have a no-pressure chat first.

Appreciate you reading 🙏

On what platform will you be publishing the documentary?

hey can anyone recommend any trusted and cheap bulk suppliers that ship, i remember discann/mustafa used to be reliable but the number i have no longer seems to work. All the dispensaries near me are owned by coke/rock dealers and i refuse to support them.

Looking to try some CBD gummies for the first time. Trying to see if it would help with sleep or pain etc

Any suggestions on some brands/sites that are cheap.

Why is it perfectly fine for a person to drink himself paralytic on a weekend then show up for work like nothing happened, but if you dare take 1 gummy you are screwed because hurr durr the drug test shows you are a drug addict.

I am happy to report that I passed my random drug test by scooping the toilet from the last person who didn't flush. They can all go f8#@ themselves.
