LOL, it has been asked :p

hj2k_x got to 20 000 posts and there it is resting for now. Still alive to blog and update posts that I started with that nick, but I thought after 20k I needed a change of scenery and everyone called me Henry anyway :)

Credit cards are good cos if the site turns out to be bogus you can get a chargeback from the bank...

They do have some good pricing there though...maybe because they are not registered for VAT? Are those prices VAT inclusive?

Ya ... prices will still include VAT ... but they can lower their markup compared to guys who pay VAT.

Assume the following:
Cost = 100 ex vat
VAT = 10% (For ease of calculation)
Mark-Up = 20%

VAT registered:
100 + 20 (20%) = 120 + 12(10%) = R132 selling
Profit = 132 - 100 - 12 = 20 (Your original markup on cost ex vat)

Non-Vat Registered:
100 + 10 (Supplier still needs VAT of 10%) = 110 + 22 (20%) = R132 selling
Profit = 132 - 110 = 22 (original mark-up)

Therefore he only needs to sell at R130 to make the same profit as us.

Point is ... he makes a markup on cost incl. VAT (Higher cost therefore higher markup), whereas we make a markup on cost less vat.

Sorry guys - had a problem with our server, but we've sorted it out now. Was working when I finished work at 5:45 last night and again at about 11:00 last night, so it must have been intermittent yesterday and then developed into a full blown problem today - always murphies law that something goes down on a Saturday, had to interrupt a golf game to get it fixed :P But it's back up now and we are (as always) taking steps to improve the reliability of our site.

You know after reading a few posts of some guy called HenryJ talking about editing the OP of your 3D Card thread etc etc, I seriously thought to myself "What an Idiot, trying to edit the OP...". Only after I checked the OP, I clicked that you must've changed you nick!

I must say, I liked the nick hj2k_x more :p

Yeah, apparently not everyone know that I got to 20k or that my name is Henry :p

It is a bit of a mission having to update threads with one nick and post with the other, but I think I am getting the hang of it now :)

PS - you are the only one who like the nick hj2k_x except me :p The number of people that got it wrong or just didn't make any effort to get it right. :o :(
 
I'm glad it's back up now. Almost bought somewhere else :D
 
Lol ... that number has something to do that when you check the who's online section of the admin, that you don't have millions of duplicates :P

Yeah I know that much from the message. Was just laughing it it however. Getting a number useless to the average browser when you actually expected pictures and prices of computer parts...
