The Cheapest PC Shops In SA

I once emailed them and actually waited two weeks before they replied. By that time I had already gone somewhere else. Fast service trumps good prices any day.

I emailed them on the 8th at around 8am, got a reply in 2 hours.

Ask a question and they will give you an answer that takes all factors into consideration - not only profit!

I have also only had good experiences with Prophecy.

i am a very happy customer as well, their level of care is astounding. them and take2 are brilliant, but for pc needs i go to prophecy. dvd's and music and games i go to take2 :) what could be better than ordering your things online and getting it a few days later at your office? no hassle, no running around like a headless chicken wasting petrol to get all the crap together.
love them! (take2 as well :D )

Just picked up my PSU and heatsink from our guys downstairs. Didn't expect to get everything nicely packed in a prophecy carton box filled with all those polystyreen to protect content.

Prophecy,Landmark and the dealers at systemshock and pcbuyersguide forum get my recommendation.

I like prophecy because of the free shipping for purchases over R1000

Wow guys - thanks for all the positive comments! We try very hard to provide a high level of service, so it's always nice to hear when we are getting it right :D

And now the hard bit....

Yeah, I'm really sorry about this. I could give a whole list of reasons (staff being sick, power issues, internet issues, public holidays) but the truth is we did drop the ball in replying to emails for a while. We've made some changes to the way we respond to emails to ensure that we respond much more quickly, don't fall behind at all, and that if a response is going to take a while we send an intermediate email saying "Don't have an answer right now but will find out ASAP and let you know". If you send us an email and don't get a reply in 1 to 2 days, please call us - sometimes emails get filtered into junk (which we do "skim" through) or just don't get delivered at all (go figure, it's the internet).

Glad to see our new approach is working a bit better - that week was when we implemented it, and so far it's been going well.

I try so hard to be like you guys Artagra ... You are tough competition and everyone knows you ... but Digital Addiction is still a 1 person company ... I wish I could grow to your size :P ... Sadly many people won't use me as they already use the big 4 (Prophecy, Sybaritic, Take2, PCMall) :P ... but I always read the comments about you guys then make my business oriented towards what the customers applaud you about ;)

Just stick with it bru ...... one day you will be in their league ;):D Everybody has their moment :D

Lol yeah ... unfortunately ... if I can't hire someone to run DA by honours year ... I have to sell a controlling stake probably ...

I'll vouch for Prophecy. Great prices, sometimes not the cheapest but only off by a few rand and the service and convenience make up for it. Also I love the fact that the site provides stock availability info. Thats my biggest complaint about online shops like PCmall, Digitalplanet and Take2 they have millions of products listed but order something and it's really a gamble as to whether you'll ever get it.

Cyberdyne are also great but their product range is a little limited, I guess it helps keep prices down if you only have a few suppliers and can order bigger shipments. They also answer stock queries within minutes even at 10PM!

I use to use cafe viva a lot when it was in Rosebank a few years back, they use to have cool cd and dvd bundles for R50 a pack of 50 and R80 a pack of 50 respectively, and use to work perfectly. And got some RAM, was 512 DDR400 kingstong for R300...where other places sold for R460...

Also brought lots of systems from them for my friends. Though they're only in Cape Town now and some other place but I still keep them at heart :)

They're still around if u know where to look ;) ... but I think the public side in Jhb closed, they're only selling to dealers now ... and if u thought ur prices were cheap ... u should see wat they sell to me for ;) ... so I generally end up selling at the Cafe Viva pricing :P

I should be adding their full pricelist to my website soon ... but I can still get anything if u need it :)

Yea http://www.emorph.co.za/index.php got sum amazing prices! Any exp with customer service?

Erm....only lauched on the 15th!!! Dont think may people will have experience yet!

One thing that concerns me are all the fly-by night pc stores...been burnt in the past. They open for a few months and then they realise its not easy - and give up! See eMorph have no terms and conditions on the site, no privacy or returns policy....bleh....and they dont accept credit cards. Credit cards are good cos if the site turns out to be bogus you can get a chargeback from the bank...

They do have some good pricing there though...maybe because they are not registered for VAT? Are those prices VAT inclusive?

Just my 2c!
