The Courier Guy / Pudo - A Broken System and Frustrating Experience

Is this shitshow still ongoing? I need to send items to clients and I am very hesitant to use TCG or Pudo
There seems to be some issues but most have been resolved.

Looks like they first fixed API users as mine are all delivered and working as it should.

I don't use their app or website so can't comment on how they are working.

TCG is not affected and it's only PUDO bookings that seem to still have some issues

Normal services restored.

Booked at 8:07 today and delivered at 14:19 for an order that was placed on my website at 20:32 last night.

New website also allows waybills to download as labels instead of 2-up on A4 so I'm getting to use my waybill thermal printer

How much are those thermal printers and what are the running costs like?
This one I just imported from Alibaba. Less than R2k including customs. It's been in the cupboard for just over a year. Should be cheaper now with the current exchange rate.

Don't have money to spend on brand name local suppliers. This one has Bluetooth so I use my phone to print as most of what I do admin related I do on my phone including managing my shopify website and navigating the Pudo customer portal.

I ordered 100mm x 150mm thermal labels on makro at R165 for a roll of 500 labels. Bought 4 rolls so they should last me a couple of years.

No idea on other running costs yet.

This is cool.
I need to figure out how to use Web hooks as pudo does allow it so customers can track directly on my website on their order status page.

I can also use it to send automated emails based on shipping status. Will be useful if there are any delays or if it's marked as out for delivery.

App and kiosk initiated deliveries still not working. Recipients not receiving notifications that parcels are in lockers with pins to get them out.
I don't do a lot of shipping but being out in the sticks , Pudo was super-convenient for the 5 or 6 deliveries I initiated a month...what a bunfight.
Reckon I'm going back to RAM

Hm.. They just delivered my pudo parcel this morning to the wrong locker far away from where I live. In an area I've never even heard of or been to. Someone didn't read the address correctly I guess. Oh well, hopefully I'll survive the trip and they're not sending me to my doom :cautious:

Courier Guy cannot locate my Waybill. Sold something on Yaga 2 weeks ago and received pin for the locker to place the item in but apart from the item being en-route to the destination locker nothing can be ascertained. They had a migration issue at the time and the new software was rejecting Waybills but the problem persists. The chaos created by the poor migration has still not been resolved and in the meantime how many items will just be lost in the ether never to be found again!

My wife uses Pudo extensively. I'm busy booking most of her deliveries on my courier accounts because the system can't locate 90% of the delivery lockers she needs to use, as if they don't exist.

Probably the worst migration. I've been lucky as the only issue I had initially was not being able to make a booking or incomplete addresses captured even though these were pulled directly from shopify.

Pudo deleted their apology on Facebook after they had over 700 comments. It was the standard corporate apology for the inconvenience caused but no accountability or admission that they ****ed up.

My family and I are recent PuDo converts, however observing the fallout as of late, it's safe to say that we're going back to our previous provider. A little costlier, however results are guaranteed.

I dread to think of how much business TCG has lost and will lose over this farcical disaster.

Yes, we are back on Paxi and my wife Yaga (pfffft....) also moved to Paxi, takes a bit longer, but delivers. Also don't need to set foot in one of the horrendous TGC Kiosk offices.

I'm a regular at the local TCG kiosk so just walk in to the back and drop my parcels off. No need for me to wait to hand it over at the counter.

But they've lost a lot of customers with this migration.

Busy setting up Pargo API integration so I have alternatives.

It takes between 15-25 minutes to fetch or drop a parcel as an individual. It is THE most ridiculous system and snail-paced employees you can find here. Its literally as if they are on the same system as Home Affairs.

What does Yaga say, who will take the loss if it can't be found?

Good question. There is a fee, based on the item price, Yaga charges which the buyer pays and perhaps this is there pooled insurance they could tap to cover these situations - if they accept responsibility (they could also pass this onto Pudo/Courier Guy).
