The Craft Beer Thread

At least someone agrees with me that the Loxton Lager is pathetic.
Have you tried Two Okes Brewery, www.twookesbrewery.co.za. they have a pleasant range:

Two Okes Pilsner

ABV: 4.5% IBU: 26.5 Colour/EBC: 14.8 Notes: Full bodied German Pilsner lagered at low temperatures, low carbonated that has subtle floral aroma with a crisp bitter finish.

Two Okes African Pale Ale

ABV: 4.5% - 5% IBU: 36.4 Colour/EBC: 9.5 Notes: American styled Pale Ale, light in maltiness with a good amount of bitterness, low carbonated with Pine, Mint and Citrus aroma.

Two Okes Hefeweizen

ABV: 4.5% IBU: 13.7 Colour/EBC: 8.3 Notes: American style Weissbier ( Wheat beer ) with a South African twist, lighter wheat grain bill with low hops to give a summer drinking styled Wheat beer.

Two Okes Irish Ale

ABV: 4.5% IBU: 19.6 Colour/EBC: 20.3 Notes: A easy drinking low carbonated Irish Red Ale, using local hops to bring it to Africa with a Biscuit and caramel hints in the malt.

I went to visit Hennie at Two Okes Brewery this week. Great beer!

Anyone tried Riot yet? They opened a brewery and taproom at the Palms Centre. Golden Ale and IPA only currently, but he says they're planning a dark brew, special batches etc... I'll get some this coming week and report back.

The liquor stores close by are slowly getting new craft beers. This one is quite refreshing. Very foamy head though.

care to share the recipe?
Do you have a bread machine? I've got all the ingredients memorised, and most of the steps, but there is a whole kneading process that I skip in favour of the machine. :)

I have a machine. Post it in a new thread :D

Anybody know where I can find those 5l heineken mini kegs?

I much prefer beer on tap and don't have place for a 30l keg in my fridge:)

bottleshop.co.za have mixed craft beer cases you can buy. That way you can try a couple of different beers.
