The Craft Beer Thread

"selected" - what does that mean?

It means call before you rock up at your nearest store.

For example in my immediate area the bothasig liqour shop has zero craft, but n1 city and burgundy generally stock craft.

I go to my Checkers/Liquor daily. :o

There were a lot of boxes blocking the entrance today, I assume the goodies are in there.

So I can tell the SO I bought glasses and they threw in the beer for free? :D

I can't see the value in that (for me).
  • I don't like IPA.
  • I don't need nor like that glass.
Not a huge fan of glasses I can't get to the bottom of when cleaning. Nice deal tho. & you need to start drinking more IPA :).

Tested Newlands Spring beers over the weekend and must say, not a raging fan of any of the 3 beers I tasted. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the worst that I've tasted, but also no major praises.

The weiss was by far the least impressive; tasteless and would liken it to an ice cold castle light - it's light and tastes like watered down beer (like budweiser).
Blonde Ale - feels a bit "light" for an Ale, but has nice flavour. I've brewed and experimented with Southern Passion and have an understanding of its potential.
Jacob's Ale - in all honesty, I don't have much experience with UK ales and thus not much to compare it to. Will be giving this another chance.

I'm assuming that Lakeside reverted back or retweaked their APA. The Aroma and body is back to where it once was.

None spotted in Hermanus. Some boxes have not been unpacked yet though. There is a Striped Horse pack with four beers and a glass though. Think it was R99.
