[snip pic]
Not too good.
Most stouts are not hopped, they get their bitterness from burnt barley.
No porter, only dark lager. There are prolly more porters around than dark lagers!

I would have shuffled the beers around by SG to make the pic more realistic. Nice idea, though.

What? Stouts aren't hopped? Simply not true. In fact, in many countries, you have to add at least some hops to beer in order for it to be called a beer.

That said, that pic is also pretty inaccurate. Lagers are the most alcoholic? Clearly haven't had a IIPA or an imperial stout...

Lumber Jack amber ale from Jack Black.

Just had a Robson's East Coast Pale Ale: excellent beer, nice fruity taste with good head retention. Bottle conditioned, and my missus made the mistake of lying it on its side during transport so was rather cloudy. Definitely worth another bottle. From Tops in Monument Park, 550ml bottle.

(picture tomorrow).

@mongoose: check the definition of a stout.

Not enjoying the Copperlake English Ale, too much fruity hopiness for my taste.

Haven't had that many weiss beers so nothing much to compare it to. It's very fizzy, light & fruity. I quite like the range of Cederbrew beers so far - just need to try their Lager still.

Pretty much defined a weiss :) should be fruity (banana, cloves, orange, lemony), fizzy (high carbonation) and you should get a slight hint of hops.

Try Paulaner (the most popular in SA; try both weiss and hefeweis), CBC Amber Weiss (kristal weiss if you want something lighter/crisper), Lakeside breweries, Steph Weiss for some other. Think Birkenhead breweries and Robson's have a blonde weiss.

My least favorite brewers. All their beers I've had in the past have had a metallic aftertaste that's not nice at all.

Wasn't always like that. I loved the bone crusher but I think the brewery, i.e the contract brewer, changed the recipe and now it's less enjoyable.

There's not a lot of local brewers that do "pure" and "traditional" Witbier and finding good German brews is also quite a mission.
