Cannot get enough of this beer:

My tripel (10%) also just aged enough to drink. But will be aging it for a few more months. They are incredibly delicious beers, the yeast strain used is also cultured from Westvleteren monestry.

That's the beauty of homebrewing taking inspiration from wonderful craft brews and making ur own

Off to cape this weekend think I'm adding them as a stop, worth throwing a short left to support local!
On route there take a detour and hit soul barrel. They have an awesome barleywine, and just released an all bret IPA.

I also got a sorghum sour there today, will try it in a few months.

As you can see another great brewery!!

10 minutes from soul barrel is hey joe brewery.. just putting it out there.

Forgot to add, do a mini pit stop on your way to soul barrel and get some barrel aged beers from karoo craft brewery.

Ooooh thanks for that! Will definitely have a look into those!

Visit Aegir...you cannot buy their stuff online at all. The others mentioned are all available online or in Tops etc.
This is def on the list for next time a little out of the way this round but thanks for the suggestion! Lol no time for wine this round :) My wife will need to get used to the beer tastings :)

Nice.

A Class Act Doppelbock

Our Doppelbock is a fantastic malted lager that is split in to different mashing temperatures to bring out multiple flavours and aromas that melt together to form a well balanced dark beer with a crisp lager finish. Klipbock was rewarded a Gold Medal in the 2018 SANBT Awards, which rounded off a fantastic 5 medal haul.
ABV: 8.2 IBU: 36

Ok so I am off to the Cape over the next week or so and wanna add some breweries to visit to the list. Aegir is in the next trip.

I want to do about 3 and have the following:

Mountain brewing co, Soul Barrel and Hey Joe

In the Wellington/Stellies/Franschhoek region

Super keen on Mountain Brewing Co and Soul Barrel not sure abt replacing Hey Joe, any recommendations?

Just for the record I love pretty much all beer styles IPAs are just my least favorite.

I have personally brewed the below styles

English bitter, Pale ale, Porter, Stout, Pastry Stout, Weiss, Wit, Saison, Barleywine, California common, Pilsner, Lager, Bock, NEIPA, Belgium Blond, Belgium Tripel

So I am very keen to taste whats out there apart from what I can pick up from tops...

I wasn't very impressed with Hey Joe especially since they did not have the ones on tap that I wanted to try the last time I was there. I would consider swapping them with The Franschhoek Beer Co. They are practically next to each other.
Or just do both :p
