The d!ck within....

Was the taste of whatever you drank worth it?

How do you drink if you saw what it did to your father?

no matter how much we try, we become like our parents.

true story

Giving up drinking may be a tad harsh here people! Come on now! :erm:

Look OP - Do you get violent or grabby without alcohol? Have you got a history (if you care to share) of acting out like the before - drunk or sober?

It couldn't hurt to seek professional help to work through your anger issues.
Let them make a call on your drinking habits after some consultation.
Slim chances of you getting the gal back in your life after a double d|ck move.
Do I get violent or grabby without booze? NOOIT! In fact, it is a known fact that I will get my ass whipped by a girl because I despise any man that will raise his hand to a lady. I've seen traumatic **** that I'd never inflict on a woman. Eg. My dad almost killing my mom with one of those metal irons you warm on a primus stove. At 6, I had to mop the blood.

I'm not violent at all! I am confrontational in words, but when things get too much, I walk off and let it cool.

I'm certainly seeking professional help - I'll see how that goes because on the surface I am fine. I don't think I have deep anger or rage I need to release.

Well I for one will not blame the booze. It's all you. So keep drinking and continue showing women your true colors.

This. Don't worry about it though, women love abusive, insecure douchebags. Especially the ones who are "trying to change" and oh-so-very-sorry each time they have an episode which they will never ever ever do again.

Edit: Good, seeking professional help is the only thing that might help you. You're going to have to get through the denial phase first though. You definitely have repressed anger issues.

but tell us more of this "innocent conversations"

bitches be quick to say "we're just friends".

phuk that *****

you flipped cos you saw something that made you flip

Ok, perhaps I assumed incorrectly because of what you said earlier:

but I did touch and speak to her in a way guys that belong in hell do. It was so bad she decided to leave her own apartment whilst I passed out.

Write her off as a future partner and start working on bettering yourself. Know your limits or stop drinking.

And don't be a dick.

A line from The Crow comes to mind: Victims, aren't we all.

I actually watched an interesting TEDTalk on CTV from a Domestic Violence Abuser on that ^ very subject.
The way out whackos, moer jou vrou, kind of okes take much longer to let there true nature come out.

OP flipped early in the relationship - he doesn't seem to be quite on par with the typical abuser.

Disclaimer: That's based on my watching a TedTalk without any further knowledge on the subject.

Alcohol doesn't change people,it just lets the inner poepol out

Well he did mention he grew up in a violent household, that's usually a good indication. I'm no expert either, he may or may not be a lost cause. That's why I'm saying he needs professional help and to quit the denial. The first step to fixing a problem is admitting it exists.

Be "glad" it happened before you got married and had kids. Now you know you have issues that you need to sort before you get involved with someone else. I think it's better if you left her alone.

Yip - could agree indeed.

That's why I said earlier - get someone (preferably a professional) to talk to.
Or those priests or whatever...

I'm not in the field, but I know someone who councels abused and traumatised children. From what she told me - No one walks out of events like that without issues. Step 1 to get help - good for you.
As for the suggestion to stop drinking - its simple. Skin Deep (1989) - brilliant comedy with John Ritter. But of all the scenes the one that stuck with me ever since (Yes, even more than the glow-in-the-dark condom fight) was advice his psyciatrist gave him 'You know what is the first thing I tell someone with a gambling problem. Stop gambling.'
You don't want a drinking problem like your father had? Then don't drink.

You're just fortunate she is giving you the time of day after that. Pathetic
I have to agree. The problem here is I know what is wrong, I know what it right. I cannot say I got to betray the way I do things.

Buck up!

There's a few okes on here who do paintball - go and get your rage out. And get it out good. Listen, I've been there done that (years ago) so I am going to assume you're young. Snooping was your downfall - and in more ways than one. You can't fix this with my advice but you can prevent it in future: NEVER SNOOP!

The benefits of not trying to invade privacy is that you get privacy respected in return. And that, my friend, is very important as you get older. The last thing you need on a Friday afternoon is a chick nagging you because you went to the pub but if snooping is the way of the relationship, she has the same rights as you: to know (and then dictate) your every move.

If you can easily find new employment, consider a resignation: you made the workplace uncomfortable for both of you and unless she is fine with you staying on, I'd say you have a responsibility to your dignity and her welfare to find other employment. Sorry to put it that way.
Sir; I always say "never snoop because you will find upsetting ****" - what happened then, I really cannot say. And nay she asked me not to resign. Yes, I'm relatively young; 24.

So what's the odds that this is/will become public knowledge in the office? :p
I very much doubt it. Even if it did,I really wouldn't care - I was a dick and deserve the ****storm that comes wit it.

Not a ****ing chance. Beer. Whenever I'd feel like I am getting out of control - I'd stop. Friday 27 September got noted because it is a day I will always remember to be the final stop.

no matter how much we try, we become like our parents.

true story
I can't be like that *******. I cannot. I am better off dead then; genuinely.

Wow! She just came to speak to me. Asked about how church was and a flat warming we were meant to go to together - it was on Saturday; I didn't go. Had to do some introspection. The chat was brief and friendly.

I don't know if I have a violent bone in me but I shall table this when I go for my session. I will keep you guys posted, because, some of you are genuinely interested to talk me through this mess. For that, I am grateful.

@ OP, Was anything ever done about your father's abusive behaviour?
Nope. Parentals divorced. I adored him until 19976/7 when I grew half a brain and became aware of what an ass he was. (He used to bribe me with nice things so my mom was all the fun blocker.)
