The Dark Knight Rises

because of several guys on this thread complaining about the The Dark Knight Rises noise/sound i opted for Ridley Scott's Prometheus and its very good. cant wait for the sequel. The leading lady Noomi Rapace was fantastic . a must see !

So basically, after quoting irrelevancies over a span of a couple of weeks (in the spirit of true Fanboiism), you simply decided to see something else? Am I correct in this summary?

Just got back from watching this at Monte. Sound, picture, all was good..

The movie itself- was epic. Hardy's performance as Bane was imperious. Especially when they revealed his origin at the end. It really made him that much more menacing, and more human.

Bale was OK as Batman. I appreciated how he actually proved the words of Rachel's character in TDK right.

Hathaway was quite the femme fatale. Also appreciated Nolan not going for the cheap "ass in tight leather shot" as often as he could have. The Avengers could have learnt from that (not that I am complaining at all :))

Gordon-Levitt was the surprise package. His role was probably the hardest to add any significance to, but he stood up well to the main actors I think.

The only one who I found lacking was Caine's performance as Alfred. A bit too soppy for my liking.

Overall- I give it 8.9/10. Blame it on the butler :) but Nolan's directing is top notch in my opinion.

I didnt enjoy this one at all. The previous two were much better. Too many holes in the plot, hardly any witty humour, bad dialogue, bad musical score. 5/10 for me.

I was let down by a poor quality cinema. Often blurry video and terrible sound. I could not hear what half the characters were saying. I totally gave up on trying to understand Bane. 7/10 from me.

Same here, I sent a mail to numetro complaining and they explained they had a blown amp in that particular cinema

Out of interest those complaining about sound and picture was it Nu Metro or SK?

Nu Metro

To each his own I guess :)

Yep....I mean, there are people who enjoy Juanita Du Plessis's and Ray Dylan's music...These are the people who say things like "good grafieks, but that's it" after watching the matrix trilogy...Personally, i dug TDKR...One thing Nolan did extremely well was the villains.

Okay for me this movie was very much an anticlimax. After hearing such good stuff about it I really thought it was gonna be AMAZING.

I thought it was good, but more of an average good. It has lost the Batman charm the other 2 movies had.

Scarecrow was amazing because of the 'darkness' that was in that movie, at night time dodgy happenings etc. Then The Joker was AMAZING because Heath Ledger just did an awesome job and again there was that eeryness that they captured and the kind of 'supernatural' element.

This movie was like a punch up. The storyline was pretty flat, and I wasn't even blown away by the ending, in fact the very end was very cheesy. Bane's voice was awesome, but as a character he was a bit lame. I imagine Bane like in the old Batman movies as some super mutant person that gets pumped full of chemicals. Not some normal sized person with a mask.

Yeah it was worth a watch, but it was a severe disappointment and doesn't stand up to the first 2 at all.

Saw it at monte and wow it was really good! The picture and sound was unbelievable! Although the movie was very long and to loud at some parts, very intense! But u have to be a batman fan :D 9/10

I watched it last Thursday at Numetro V&A Waterfront. I think I got too caught up in all the hype surrounding DKR. I was expecting to be blown away by the characters and plot but at times it just felt "meh" with many scenes feeling rushed in and at times convoluted. I did enjoy some of the twists (especially at the end). OH and of course the sound at Numetro was screwed, something was wrong with Banes voice as only his voice was super loud but the other characters were quite soft. Sounded like someone had dubbed Banes voice over the original...

In the end I did enjoy the movie but it really needed that exhilirating dark and ominous atmosphere that Heath Ledger added with the Joker character. I give DKR 6.5/10

In The Dark Knight I thought Heath Ledger was the only one who gave an incredible performance, which made the film memorable.

In the Dark Knight Rises I felt that everyone raised their acting to a new level (Anne,Hardy,Bale,Cain and JGL)and they didn't rely on one person (Heath) to carry the film.
