The Droid TV thread

Thanks Bro- so to clarify - if I'm setting up a projector with surround sound, the Droid will not be capable of surround sound cos there's no optical out? Or will the receiver handle the surround sound?
Also If I needed more than 2 USB ports will I be able to use a USB hub with the M8?
Thanks again for the help

Both DroidTVs support DTS Surround Sound playback. The MX supports it via HDMI and Digital COAX (SPDIF), and the M8 supports it via HDMI and Digital Toslink (Optical)

Thanks man.
Guess I'm gonna look for another R300 and go for the better model...
@avsupply- is the M8 stable for a non-techie like me- I don't wanna got about flashing roms or things I have no clue about :)

Yes, it will suit your needs perfectly

Hi Guys.
Ordered M8 from AV Supply.... These guys are awesome. Fast service and also gave free express parcel upgrade. Waiting for it to be delivered. Cant wait to get my hands on it now.

@iru786: This is a new product release so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

@silkman: I have tested a hub on the DroidTV MX and it works fine. If you want one that blends in with either the DroidTV or the M8, take a look at this one (black).

Each port can be turned on and off individually and the blue lighting looks really good at night!

I have only used it as a passive hub (i.e. no external power) so I'm not sure how well it would function as a powered hub using a small external 5V power supply. It does have an external power socket but I never tested this feature while I was using it.

I haven't made any changes to the original firmware that came with my DroidTV. The M8 should be ready for use after connecting it to your projector.

Hi iru786

If the M8 default interface isn't to your liking, please try out the KitKat launcher -> https://www.sendspace.com/file/s6i39k

Included in the zip is the Gbox app which will allow you to change the desktop background

Hi Guys,
Got the parcel this morning. Fired it up and its exactly the same OTT box as mentioned in the review here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw--cBwO_fI . So far looking good.

I also ordered Mele F10 Pro and the strange problem is as soon as i key in Bluetooth adaptor in the box, The sound disappears. Very strange. Need to figure out the issue.

@AVsupply.... Thanks for that, I will give it a try.

So is this better than a Roku 3?
Anyone have both ?
Seem to me it can do everything a Roku can do and more.

Is it possible to take a backup of default launcher just in case if i want to go back to it?

Don't worry, it won't be removed :) You just need to select it from Android Settings >> Home

Thanks.. Let me try.

Also have you come across the issue that i am having with bluetooth dongle?

Yes because it does not seems to work without it.

The M8 has built-in Bluetooth, did you enable it from Android Settings >> Bluetooth?

What device are you trying to connect to the M8?

Thanks

Iam trying to use F10 Pro remote with it. I have enabled bluetooth from setting but without connecting the dongle, F10 pro does not work

That's because the F10 Pro is Wireless. You will need to connect the dongle if you want to use it

Does everything work fine when you plug the dongle in?
