The Droid TV thread

Well I’ve broken this thing... the remote REFUSES to work, I’ve tried different batteries and it’s not working. Was working fine earlier.

Is there a way to re-pair this remote???

Anyone? I’ve even installed the stock 4.4.2 android and remote still not working.

Sure I’m doing something stupid...

I haven't streamed from chrome browser in a while. Will try in the morning when our electricity comes back on. I have the U1. The last bit of streaming I did was TDF 2017. Worked flawlessly.

@techead Have a look at the "Nodi Fork" It allows old versions of Android to install Kodi 17.

Thanks for the tip, but right now, I have the bigger problem of the remote not working at all... even on the stock (??) 4.4.2 install

This is what I used, https://www.digitalreins.com/reinsta...-media-player/

I have read a number of posts that talk about a remote config file that different boxes require you to place in a specific folder (cant recall location now) and I tried that as well.

So as it stands, I have 4.4.2 installed on the box, but the remote isnt working. One thing I did notice is that my remote is not IDENTICAL to the remote in the picture. It is SLIGHTLY different, in that the button on the TOP RIGHT does NOT light up when pressed, and its simply black and is a MUTE button.

I'm at a loss and super frustrated....

Apologies. It is infact SS that I am streaming from Chrome, not DSTV. I get the same error as you.

Help !!!

Android TV box WiFi connection to router is "Obtaining Ip, Connected, Saved" loop - connecting and disconnecting all the time
Is on DHCP setting

The router is a Telkom Aztech 700w-3g and all other Android and Ios devices connect fine via WiFi
There must be some setting on the Router that the TV Box don't like

Strangely - the Android TV Box connects fine to my phone hotspot

Any ideas ?

How far is the box from the router, might be signal too weak?

or this is out there but had an issue with my one phone once also connected to hotspot but not the router, turns out my router only broadcast on Wireless N, change it to A B G+N and it worked, try changing that on the router.

Thanx Isie

Cycled through the A B G+N settings - no fix

Router is about 5m away
