The Droid TV thread

Interesting thing is occurring. I am getting proxy unblocked errors on Netflix when using version 6+ of netflix (yes yes I am using a dns for American netflix). This has now happened on both shield and fire stick. But when I roll back to version 5 it’s working fine. Wonder if Netflix has now hardcoded google dns in its app

Ok so uninstalling all Netflix updates and getting back to ver. 5.1.3 has solved the blocking of US Netflix content on my Android (Mi Box, and Nvidia Shield) TV devices.

Cheers @Gothan

Let me see if rolling back will help

Ok maybe someone knows. I am looking for an android streaming device that supports the normal avi connections (white, yellow, red). My kids have a normal crt tv in their room. And stream netflix through their wii. But received an email from Netflix that the wii will stop streaming in Jan 2019. So am looking for something that I can load Netflix on (the modded one so it does not need to be netflix certified).

Any suggestions?

The Telkom LIT box is the only one I know of that might support this, do not have an old TV to try with.

You can run a HDMI->VGA converter or HDMI -> DVI converter on these and it works, tho your luck might depend on the adapter you buy. A HDMI -> Composite TV adapter is probably also a choice.

Sorry, it occurs to me that a ROKU Express +, might also do this.

Perfect.
No more issues with smartdnsproxy.

I'm looking for recommendations on a box (not a mibox- I have one already) that does nor run Android TV- just stock Android OS. Previously had a MyGica and was very happy. What are the current best one on the market? Must run Kodi and be able to write to SD card.
Thanks

Not strictly a 'Droid box, but a Rasberry Pi, with Android, might be an option, if tinkering is your thing, otherwise another MyGica ... , the lower end models still run stock Android I think.

H96Pro ... a little old but meets your requirements.
or if you willing to import H96 Max X2 from Amazon
