The Droid TV thread

@iru786 , did you try to test on someone else network, to see if it's device/network related? (running static or dynamic ip's?- I only run static)
Sorry if someone already pointed that route;)

And if you ping ip,do get packets lost?

@avsupply Thanks for putting 1 aside for me bro.

@yotch thanks for the advice on the mouse. I think I would like a keyboard so looking a mx3 or mele f10. Must say I'm leaning towards the mx.

If Matricom stays true to their time table,it should come out in a week:whistle:. I mostly use fusion repository with 1channel as main and movie4k.to;)

Matricom 1.2 is being released tonight at 6pm (Friday, August 1st) according to their forums.
Apparently they are also releasing a brand new feature or something which they are very secretive about. I'm intrigued.

@AVSupply Is the Matricom firmware compatible with our MX2 devices out of the box or do they need to be tweaked?

If the boxes shipped with a Matricom boot image, they should be compatible. Earlier customers received DroidTV firmware and will need to update

Here are the instructions for converting from DroidTV to Matricom

This is how you perform a firmware recovery on the DroidTV

And yes, I'm pretty sure it can be tweaked if there are issues ;)

How do I know if I have a DroidTV or Matricom boot image?

@avsupply
Thanks- if there can only be 1 firmware at a time on the machine, please load mine with the 1 you think is the best...
:)

Hi Guys,
Currently testing the Linux firmware on my M8 but i am still having the same connectivity speed issue.

Does anyone know how do i open ssh console to do a speed test?

The only option i can think now is that may be my router is not that good but than it should affect my other devices as well...

ssh should be enabled by default

user: root
passsword: letmein or admin

Try ftp your xbmc userdata folder to your PC and check the speed

Bro, I feel for your issues but man you guys talk complicated stuff. I have NO clue what you guys talking about ....
anyways sorry man I hope you get sorted out.

@iru786: Are you using a DNS proxy service like Unotelly while running the tests? If so just remove that temporarily (not required for YouTube etc.) and, if you haven't already tried an account from a different ISP (free Afrihost 1GB etc.), try that also to see if there is any change.

A little praise for AVSupply.
I ordered a DroidTV MX Media Player and some other stuff last week Friday and Monday afternoon the package was delivered.
Excellent product and great service.

ok guys... speed is still the same with linux os as well
@ yotch... i am not using any proxy server. I have not tried other ISP and i think ISP is not an issue here as my other devices are able to access internet content fine.

Speedtest from my Note2 shows download speed of 3.4 mbps while test from the box shows 0.68 with super high latency...

Any ideas what else i can try?

Were you planning on buying a new home router anytime soon?

If not, the only other thing we can try is swapping the unit

I'll send one up on Monday if you can't find a solution this weekend
