The DroidTV comes pre-installed with Airplay and Miracast. It can work well at one house but doesn't work at the next. Each environment has a different result

Is that a connection issue J? Strange to have it work well at one, and not the next.
 
Ja, I have problems with mircasting to my Roku stick. Guess it's because my PC runs via wire to my Wifi AP. It seems that the PC must have native wifi capabilities for it to work properly.
Heard of people that setup a virtual wifi AP on the PC, but that also didn't work for me.
I was hoping to get me one of these for the living room, but atm I need something that can cast from a browser on my PC.

Is that with identical hardware, firmware versions, phone, settings etc, but different wifi router?

Yes, most of the time. Phone model and firmware version also causes issues
 
Jaque dont know if you received my email, but if i factory reset as a last resort, and re install xbmc, how do i get those cool looking background pics? :p
 
so can this be changed on the MXQ via the XBMC application under the skin settings? or do i have to get this done on a PC, get the images and drop it in somewhere?

I am not 100% sure, not near the box. It was either be done through the Skin Settings page under System and the browse to images there, or copy images onto a flash and move them onto the box and place them in the right places. I can have a look tonight.
