Can I just install Kodi on the MXQ?
Yeah, but u might lose customization, can't remember if they use the same signature for XBMC and Kodi.

Guys forgive me, there is a lot to go through, what basically would you recommend thats similar to the Roku that has plex etc etc?
Is the Mx2 or is it the MX3 best option?
Forgive me for the post![]()

I messed around a little bit with the SquareHome.Tablet launcher on the Finless 2.1 rom and came up with the following home page...

Is there any view of an updated ROM for the MXIII with Kodi 14.0?
Will a patch be released to provide all the customization to XBMC/Kodi as I really miss it in the latest ROM?
The MXIII however it's a mini pc essentially that runs Android. Some reckon it's not as friendly as a Roku but you can load XBMC on it and several other apps.
It has Plex client and the majority of Android apps are supported on it.
MXIII is the newer model.
PM me if you need additional assistance
PS: On here there is nothing to forgive![]()
Hmmm interesting. Thanks so much will have a look at this in more detailI found this an interesting read http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/127...00-fire-tv-vs-apple-tv-vs-chromecast-and-more
The Roku is by far the most user and family friendly box but limited in terms of the lack of xbmc, DSTV Now etc. and you are forced to go with either US or UK apps. The MXQ, MXIII 1gb ram and MXIII 2gb ram and bluetooth, range from R950 to R1500 but you need to add R350 for the MXIII remote or any other air mouse remote as the boxes are pretty painful/limited without it. They have the power of Android, are rooted which can be an issue eg DSTV Now and Sky Go, but needs some technical ability from the user. I have ordered an Amazon Fire TV Stick which will come with a functional remote, give me DSTV Now, Android apps and XBMC but require sideloading and a very heavily tailored Amazon Prime environment (hoping to overcome this with FiredTV).
So as you can see there is always a trade off and it is about deciding what is most important to you.
I just wanna thank AVSupply, these MXIII's made for awesome, awesome gifts here this x-mas.
Was very easy for me to set up, very easy for them to use (one went to kids, the other to my dad who just doesn't like using "complicated" things like computers)
Now I just need to get one or two for myself now!
Where did you purchase from?![]()
AVSupply.
Oh sorry man, thought that was a review site
