The Droid TV thread

Please advise what I should include in the email- but honestly after 5 months do you not think that we have been through enough?
We've been through my setup before viz: Projector, AV Receiver, Media player. The HDMI split was removed in December and I haven't used it since. The MX2 is connected directly to the AVR.
The setup is not the issue- you previouly suggested connecting the mx2 directly to my other tv WITHOUT projectors, splits- just the mx2 directly to the tv- the issues still were not resolved.
The TV,projector, AVR, USB hubs, power supplies, cables and hard drives are all working fine.
That leaves the unit!
Would you not expect something to be replaced after all this?
Seriously bro after all this you say I should go back to the firmware what came with the unit - something that didn't work in the first place. We going around in circles.
I have been very patient and I know you have tried to help but I need to know how long we going to continue trying this and that, buying cables, plugs and hubs. Please bear in mind that trying these suggestions has cost me hundred of rands already.
At what point do you replace the unit?

That's why I asked you to email me, we need to organize the return and swap out

I don't work for mybroadband, I work for AVSupply

Please email me

For members reading this who think that AVSupply is giving bad service, this is not the case.

"It's honestly not my intention to make it out as though you have given bad service.
If you search the thread for previous posts I made, you can see how appreciative I was of the service you always give.
I've posted that on all forums- even referred customers to you while I was having initial hassles with the unit.
It's just that I tried everything - and for a non techie like me, that's no easy feat.
I'm sure you would be frustrated if someone told you to try the same firmware again, that failed previously?
It's also frustrating when you post "I need to make sure there is nothing obvious causing all your headaches."
We've eliminated the firmware, projector,tv,cables, hard drive, power supply, hub - the only other obvious thing is the MX2 but then you suggest I try the old firmware again.
If you still think there's something I'm missing please tell me.
Would it be possible to swap the MX2 for a more powerful model- I don't mind paying in the difference.
I'm wary of this model now.
Also I don't mind paying for Fastway Courier which you use to get the old unit back to you- don't want the post office losing the unit.
Could you include a Fastway packet in the new unit so that when the courier comes, I can include it and send it back- I will pay for this.
Let me know if tihs is fine.
Once again- there's no malice on my part- just frustration.

Thanks again
Regards"

Plex doesnt seem to like my remote on the mxiii (1gb ), it doesnt respond very well. Is there a different version of plex that I can use?

Thanks silkman

I've responded to your email. Hopefully the new box works better :)

All sorted and no goodwill lost-
AVSupply has offered me a new MXQ unit- I offered to pay for all couriers so that he is not out of pocket. He declined this also.
again- great service from AVSupply.
Now if only anyone else but Birdman wins the Oscar!

Hi Barfish88

Not very familiar with the Plex app :(

What doesn't work with the original remote?

DroidTV MG582 ordered from AVSupply, whoop whoop! Seen he has already added some enhancements that Mygica can't offer. Can't believe that Mygica - Geniatech are so slow popping out firmware and cannot provide proper support.
So in all essence what we have on this offering is solid hardware and custom rom support from AVSupply , looking forward to receiving it. Mygica firmware sucks IMHO as I own another of their quadcore models and don't love it as much as my MXIII but this is due to their unimaginative ways of doing theming and layout, boot loader logos , buffering issues, and bloat ware. For me hardware needs to be rock hard and support second to none. I believe I have a winner here.

Oh yes, and don't judge me ... I know ... I'm a "droider"

Update for those following my saga..
After reading JVanD's post and checking the unit on AVSupply website, I thought I'd pay in a bit extra and rather get that unit instead of the MXQ. since it's more powerful
AVSupply have now offered me that as a replacement at NO extra cost!
Wow!

Just not moving around the menus, dont think its a hardware issue think its software. I read somewhere on this post about people using plex and was hoping to get a link to the version they are using.

Not sure if this is the latest version, but go here

http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

And put this in the search bar

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexapp.android&hl=en

Click "Generate Link" and download the .apk

Use the APK installer to install

I use Plex a lot. No problems with the remote.
I have the MX3 remote.

In this day and age not having a gyro air mouse defeats the object ... When I started out with these boxes I thought it was a load of crap and felt it had potential but couldn't be controlled. I don't want a keyboard and mouse in my living room. Got an air mouse keyboard combo and haven't looked back.

You can use an Apple or Android phone as an airmouse... not quite as good as the real thing but pretty handy if you already have one.

It doesn't work so great cause in essence it's for touch devices and not remotes. It's the reason I use XBMC now, but I'm so much happier.
