Hey JvanD, I don't think it's a GMS issue as the boxes work {mg582 (rebranded AvSupply model number) or atv582 (Mygica official model number)} with the standard firmware as well. Most likely like you said a cloned device id or insufficient drm support or combination thereof is the problem. I only recommend the atv582 over other android boxes because of how many drm streaming apps it supports.

Hey @SL1v3R, how is life?

The last AVSupply firmware for the 582 /1800 I checked out was based on the GMS firmware if I can recall, that's why I think it might contribute or be plausible. Maybe AVSupply can clarify if their fw is based on GMS. Bigger Chinese manufacturers like Geniatech or Mygica do not seem to suffer from the issues that Beelink or Tronsmart suffer from pertaining to DRM & Widevine. Xtreamer is known in this space to take shortcuts and is a much smaller company in comparison, but I think they might not have the funds, relationship or SLA in place with AMLogic to get DRM' Widevine or content management licesing right.

Same goes for Google Playstore which is side loaded on the other Android boxes ... last time I heard Xtreamer also spoofs a Nexus and not their own unique model in the build prop. Might get a few apps that is unsupported and the like.

A mate of mine brought a Prodigy 4K into the country about 4months ago and DSTV Now works like a charm. In my view the only difference is the UI and GUI. OS is still Android 4.4. Same as the wonder. And I'm sure they're also cloned in bulk! Anyway, I've sort off made peace that I won't ever watch DSTV Now on my Wonder. Maybe time for a new xtreamer.

No sweat - I like Xtreamer but they just let me down on the Prodigy's support - great device but in comparison with support on the Med8er at that time there was just no contest.

Who knows they just might get it right at some stage ....
 
Anyone else having an issue with seeking in Isengard on the avsupply firmware with the 582?

I play over wifi and SMB with all vids on my pc, you could click anywhere on the seek bar with the old Kodi and there would be a brief pause and then it would play. With Isengard there is a long pause and then the sound starts and the "o" screen shows the video bitrate as normal but picture stays frozen at wherever it was playing before you tried to seek. Pressing stop and then resuming play takes you to where you were before seeking as well.

Fast forward also freezes at anything above 2x, but this is probably due to dodgy bandwidth

Kodi Isengard 15.2 release candidate 1 claims to fix the seek / forward issue, I'm on stock fw now so won't be able to confirm
 
Just a bit of feedback for the 582 owners ... managed to get a "no root" patch from Mygica.

I heard some streaming apps require no root ...Seems to work as I loaded a few root checkers and found no root after applying the update ...but what can we test to confirm?

Anyone having issues with the Netflix app on Android today? Using unotelly on wifi router. All set on my phone.
Am able to see the list but when I try to play anything it says, loading then error 12001

Pleasure, glad it helped. I tried to get fix for the older Mx2, but went through all the Matricom roms and even latest beta. Also latest Chinese roms. It seems the problem here is outdated drm files 'cause with a drm checking tool it gets enabled but the error says that there isn't sufficient security protocols from Showmax app. This led me to believe the specific files could be a problem.
 
I have itv installed on mygica 582 with unotelly. The app seems to work, but when I play something I only get sound and no picture.

Is there a solution I can try?

I get picture and sound when playing on my Samsung S6.

This sounds lie a DRM protection problem, check your buildprop file to see if it's enabled via a txt viewer:
You have to edit the build.prop file(Location: /system/build.prop):
media.amplayer.widevineenable=false

to...

media.amplayer.widevineenable=true

This helped on my M8-box which had same symptoms with Showmax app,hope it helps

Using the AVSupply firmware, MyGica582, Kodi Isengard and things are starting to break...

1. Supersport App no longer works, just throws an unexpected error when trying to stream anything
2. DSTV Now doesn't work with a DRM error

So I'm stuck watching the rugby in my bedroom on the laptop which was replaced by the MG582, much to the amusement of the GF

3. Seeking in Kodi is completely borked
4. HEVC x265 files give 100's of dropped frames and the audio goes out of sync constantly.

Any recommendations to fix this? Because I'm starting to get annoyed. Please be patient with me if we go down the firmware route though, I've never done it before
 
So after some "above and beyond the call of duty" assistance from AVsupply it turns out you can get DSTV Now working on this box by doing the build.prop edit mentioned above on their firmware, SS still not happy but who cares!

Oh and Kodi 15.2 fixes the seek problem, haven't tried the x265 files yet but with no hardware decoding I'm pretty sure the firmware needs a major update to handle them.
