The Droid TV thread

Thanks...the previous one I used needed an app installed on the media player and on the phone. Am I correct to assume that this one only needs to go on the phone?

Kore is the official remote for Kodi (but there are other free ones). It only controls Kodi.

Just install app on phone and then from Kodi.

SYSTEM > Services > Webserver

Enable Allow control... and set a user name and password that you will use when you turn the app on. Once you have done this the app will show you a list of devices on your network so you can choose which you want to control.

Now that AVSupply no longer selling media players, who are the go to guys?

Why could they not sell it? Takealot sells quite a few products which is not icasa approved.

well i have no idea what the reasoning was, but seems strange that Takealot can still sell non ICASA certified boxes. Surely if its not Icasa approved, then it should not be sold.

Why not? I don't care if a box isn't Icasa approved as long as it does what I need.
Also, you need to actually read AVSupply's response further up (they said they aren't selling those anymore cos of the Exchange rate)

They are playing with fire.

Think you need to read it again, AVS is not talking about the MXQ boxes, but the MyGica ones. The AT582 or something is icasa approved, but because of the exchange rate he can't bring those in.

Takealot buys thousands of boxes and gets a kick back - it's easy

There is a distinct difference between you importing yourself vs publically selling non icasa certified equipment that uses radio frequency. If you imported that for resale, you are actually doing something illegal

I have equipment that is sitting In Angola (customs) for the last 3 years because it had the word 'antenna' in the description. It requires certification from the regulatory authority there before I can clear it.

Just installed mame4droid on my box and am looking for a BT or some other controller that will work out of the box and is available locally. Any suggestions?
