If you want Dstv Now do not buy any s905 device. They lack the necessary drm which cannot be fixed with a firmware update. In July cheap S905X and S905X-H will release with necessary drm support. Further if you seek 1080p YouTube on Android Lollipop install YouTube for Android TV apk. It will give you 1080p smooth playback and better ui
 
Seems like the S905X options will be cheaper, but offer only 10/100, no Gb networking. If that's required, perhaps wait for S905D units in a few months.
 
Having an issue with my MG582.

Basically what I want it to do is play content at it's native refresh rate using Kodi's "Auto refresh rate change" but there's a problem...

If I set in the Android settings to 24Hz then everything plays fine, 24 is played at 24, 50 at 50 and 60 at 60 however the mouse movement and menus are really slow at 24.

If I set in the Android menu to 50, 60 or "HDMI auto-detect", then the menus are nice and fast but when playing anything at 24 something freaks out and I just get "No Signal" on the TV. Dropping out of Kodi to home screen brings it up at the setting selected in Android. It changes between 50 and 60 fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi guys, new to these tv boxes. Rk3368 seems to be a popular choice, when u go onto ebay, there are costing of R500 (generic) or R1300ish for hph etc. Any difference or come from the same factory. Difference in aftersupport service. Doesnt seem to be available here.
 
Thanks for the PMs guys, so its rockchip vs amlogic, still not sure then. Sounds like both should work.

Just got the RK3288 NAGRACE media player. Need a full breakdown on how to set unit up to latest firmware etc. please.

Do you have a in depth manual for the hph as Im such a noob.

Currently it has 4.2.2 firmware.

I will use it mostly for playing movies/series(xmbc looks so cool) via hdd, music on YouTube.

Currently only have wifi but later would like to stream rugby/cricket and need some advice on what Ip provider would do the trick on a budget.

Any tips, tricks would be great as im not sure where to start. Just need it to run smooth and without tinkering with it constantly.

Oke I bought it from said its the 32gb 4gb ram but ya got it for R1300.(16gb)

Anyone able to give me some pointers?
 
Well finally set up my TV Box. Was looking for a air mouse and keyboard etc because the remote is kark to work with.
So I decided to try teamviewer which means Android to Android and that didn't work.
So I tried RemoDroid. It works quite well just like I thought teamviewer would.
Now at least I can operate from bedroom to lounge as well.

Edit:- Dam after update RemoDroid also doesn't work.

If you want to use TeamViewer, you need to use the "Host" version. It is not pretty, but it does work.
 
Urghhh forgot about the stupid DRM story with Showmax on my MXIII.... and I updated the app :(
So Shomax is not showing the video again, only sound.
Checked and the media.amplayer.widevineenable=true statement is still there

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

What about certain apps being forced...Won't Showmax go the same route?
e.g. with Netflix I was forced to update as the older app just simply wouldn't play anything till I updated.

It seems Netflix can somehow prevent older versions from working properly.
It would load and allow one to select a profile and then nothing...
