The Droid TV thread

The remote apps I tried aren't working, I'll have to bring a mouse home from work tomorrow. The Supersport app (4.1.3) is at least launching, but Dstv Now 1.28.6 doesn't seem to respond. I'll uninstall and try 1.6.4

EDIT: When you say "works natively" does that mean you just launch the app and you're good to go?
Yes I just open DsTV now app and use like a normal app. No browser needed

Are there specific reasons for the APKs you mentioned? I found APKs for SuperSport 4.1.3 and Dstv Now 1.28.6 - will they work?
The dstv now version I mentioned also does not launch but can be triggered by browsing to the dstv now site on chrome and clicking a channel to watch. You will then get the request to use Chrome or the dstv now app to open the link. Choose the dstv now app and also select always use.

The latest SS app might launch but you could have video problems and the version I mentioned can launch and has no issues. As mentioned, both the above apps require a mouse pointer via a USB mouse or air mouse.

I would suggest a powered usb hub for the mi box. Check the web and YouTube for those that have that running on the mi box.

For now lets get this working for you and then can move you onto other things.

PS. Android TV is a pain if you're interested in apps not officially supported. If however your focus is Plex, Netflix, Hulu, Kodi and YouTube then it's really simple and user friendly.

Hi all,

I bought a MyGica ATV582 at Makro with the standard 801 firmware, but can't seem to get Showmax to work (rooted issue). Does anybody have a way to get around this ?

Thanks !
A friend of mine has also reported a problem with showmax on the 582. Try and download a previous version of the of the app as he had it working previously methinks.

That was the last working version. Tested loads including latest versions
thanks! It looks to be launching fine but gets stuck on the setting up for the first time screen. Think it is probably due to dstv now website being down. Will try again when that's back up

That might be the first place where you need to use the mouse to navigate and click the onscreen buttons.

I can confirm that older apk's (not sure of version) still works on the 582

Glad to hear it. Tried to impart the knowledge awhile back but nobody was listening...Lol..

For some reason CatchUp doesn't work though - it get stuck on "Loading Titles", or something to that effect. Also, SuperSport says my login credentials are invalid. That not a train smash though as I can just watch the supersport stuff through Dstv Now.

I found Kids catch up didnt load on mine but normal catch up menu kids section works. Could be tweaks to app in new versions has affected catchup. As they abandoned flash for HTML 5

Just got my Zidoo X9S. having trouble running Showmax as the device is factory rooted.

I found this. Is it actually as easy as this?

1. Access your device’s main drive and look for “system”. Select it, and then tap on “bin”. From there, delete “busybox” and “su”. By the way, these might not be there. If that is the case, move on to the next step.
2 . Go back to the system folder and select “xbin”. If the files are there, go ahead and delete both “busybox” and “su”.
3. Go back to the system folder and select “app”.
4. Delete “superuser,apk”.
5. Restart the device and it will all be done.

I will first try the latest firmware (1.2.9).

As far as the hardware goes, its brilliant. But you defiantly need a keyboard!

Or maybe I was just entering the supersport password incorrectly. Working fine now
