Hi Damac10
I see you have a NV Shield on backorder. What was the price? How did you get it out of Amazon's grubby little fingers?

Order from Amazon UK. On Pre order release 30 Jan. Hope it has SD like old model. It should be bigger due to HDD. Suspect it's old case why they staggered launch. Plus will be included media remote and new controller . Will know soon

Anybody else getting a pop up on their MXQ devices the last few days?

"More options here to control the f4m Proxy, please any key to close"

Pressing volume up or down removes it. But annoying AF!

Any one used the Krypton Kodi update on MXQ yet? I've gone back to the Confluence skin, because it feels like the default skin on 17 tries to "hide" all the third party add ons. Me no likey. With Confluence running it feels exactly like 16.1, so it is a bit of a anti climax.

bit of a strange one this.

last night i get called into my room by my four year old. points at the tv. now my MX box has been working fine for years since it was sorted out. now im staring at two options '3dlauncher' and 'launcher'. launcher takes me to some unknown desktop - clock on top and icons at the bottom. 3dlauncher takes me to the default launcher that i have been seeing. click on XBMC tab and nothing happens.

now im wondering :wtf: happened here. ask the wife. 'dunno'. lovely . go to apps and see that XBMC is now not even installed anymore. now im getting pissed. check the playstore, no XBMC to be installed, just kodi and kodi doesn't work on my box.

where do i find a version of XBMC that's compatible? previous version must have been Frodo. it had the blue theme. think the firmware is 1.1.6

does anyone actually have an idea of what happened? there must have been pop ups that got the 'ok' clicked that lead to this state. it did not install the stock firmware though. the additional apps i downloaded is still on there. just XBMC got wiped out.

something i did notice the last couple of days - 'got an error message about indigo script not running'. actually getting this on my server as well last few days.

Even if it's the worked with DSTV now it wouldn't support HD Netflix...For HD Netflix you looking for Wetek box , Nvidia Shield and Xiaomi Mibox International

Bought myself a 2017 Nvidia Shield 16gb off eBay (took a risk, worked out). What an awesome device! Kodi works beautifully. Very fast and 4K content looks amazing.

is kodi usually memory hungry? im considering updating it on my RK box that everyone went crazy about last year. everything i try to stream buffers. my old mx box didnt have these issues. heck i may even go back to xmbc.

Quality of streams has increased and that may cause buffering. However if you using popular sources for streams you most probably getting buffering due to overload of servers. Going back to xbmc won't help and many addons will be incompatible. To free up memory try using startup manager to remove unnecessary apps from starting at boot freeing memory for Kodi. What to box do you have ? Is it 1gb or 2gb memory?

On my Android Box I use spmc, I find that it works better than kodi for Android. You can also modify the video cache to reduce buffering. http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache I havent tinkered with the settings myself but it has been suggested on the kodi forums. But as Damac mentioned it could be the server you are connecting to.

I'm trying to stream from my own server in the lounge. Via wifi. Kodi is chowing 670mb from the 1gb. Gonna go wired to test. Wifi signal is full.

Doesn't matter if the server is idling or busy. My old mx box with frodo streamed no matter the state of the server.

It's likely the WiFi module in your box. Although it says full signal on WiFi speed varies from box to box on 2.4ghz network. If it's from local server should not be buffering. 670mb is being used by all the android processes and should not result in buffering over local. Try Ethernet.
