yep and its driving me nuts... very irritating to watch. My theory is whatever dish multichoice are using to allow users to stream the signal is out of alignment and thus why the quality poor... similarly to how the LNB on your home dish shifts ever soo slightly and does this exact thing.

I loaded a technical query on DStv Now live chat and encourage all to do this same to create some urgency. Lets hope something happens.

Here is the query:

Hi, there seems to be an issue with the picture quality on DSTV now. On all the channels, whether watching on mobile device, laptop or android tv box, the picture has pixilation all the time. its exactly what happens when the LNB on the dish has moved and the picture quality deteriorates. There are many people having the same problem which are sharing their experiences on MyBroadband forum... Please can you assist? this has been happening for a while now. Thanks

Strange never had this issue at all.

Anyone on Mibox who has DSTV Now app issues? Can't open the app and I've uninstalled and installed it a couple of times. Only way I can watch DSTV is by casting.

My apologies if this is not the correct topic for my request but as I am unable to find a solution I am hoping someone here can assist me.

I have a sinotec stl-43e390m smart tv which is running Android 4.4.2. This technically means that it is a Droid tv

I am trying to find the stock firmware for this tv.

The specs are as follows
Realtek Rtd298x_tv001
Device Specifications
OEM
Realtek
OS
Android
Operators
Stock Model
Resolution
1920x1080
SOC
4x ARM Cortex-A7
GPU/CPU
PowerVR SGX 544MP
quad-core N/A MHz rtd298x

I flashed the incorrect firmware and now the TV picture is distorted and I am unable to find the stock firmware anywhere.

Can anyone assist

Regards

Is 2Gb Ram enough for these TV boxes to run flawlessly, wouldn't 3 or 4gb be the min spec?

I remember going from 2gb to 3gb was a nice change on cellphones.
