All the conversations about e-tags got me curious.
According to SANRAL they have sold over 60 000 of them.
So - Who here has seen a car with one?
I spotted a elderly couple with one yesterday and this morning a Rental with one fitted.
Lets see who here has one or has seen one on a car? And if possible - post a photo.
This could get interesting.

My rental doesn't even have one

Don't even know what it looks like. How would you know who has one?

I have yet to see a car with one fitted and I have been looking around for 9 months.

I haven't seen one. Nobody at our company is getting one and none of my friends or family have one. It will be very interesting if someone has spotted one.

I have one but it is only because I drive daily on the N4. It's not registered for the e-Toll though, and it is not mounted to my window.

Previous two AVIS rental cars I drove had them fitted. Dunno where, but beeped when going under the Troll Gates.

I know someone who has one in their car. other than that.. never seen another one "In the wild" only in PnP.

Saw a lot of people ~20 buying e-Tags at the e-Toll shop in the Centurion Lake mall this afternoon.

I think DJ need to calculate at what rate etags will need to be bought, taking into account the amount of etoll shops, the 8-10 minute to register it and the time until 3 Dec. My gut tells me, there is not enough time to register all Gautengers.

I believe it looks like this:

There simply isn't enough time. No one is really rushing either. Those 20 people are complete morons for buying tags and must not complain when SANRAL deduct incorrect amounts from their accounts. These people also vote ANC I bet...

Do they sell them in brown paper bags ?

I don't believe that anyone would want to be seen in public with one of those.

Well. I saw a stack of them at the check out line at Checkers yesterday - for R45 each.
And the first thought that came to mind was - Will it blend?
Anyone with a expendable blender want to record that and post it on Youtube?

These infernal devices beep going through each gantry too? How delightful.

How long are the batteries in them expected to last, or do they expect people to replace the (presumably) sealed devices, which shall require another bout of registration?
