Yeah, but how does a party with 1 seat impact policy change? How does a fractured opposition help South Africans?

It reduces the majority of the ruling party, in theory making them more accountable

DA gets my vote for taking the bill governing e-tolls to court. So far they're the only party giving people a voice in the whole E-toll issue.

You missed the FF+ attempt in the news?

Why? Zuma is a symptom, not the problem. He rose to the top of the ANC and still enjoys their support. It's the party that's the problem, not Zuma.
Not according to your leader, she praised what the ANC had achieved after 1994 but before Zuma's reign.

She said she was joining as a member. How were they supposed to know she would go back on her word? But I agree with you, it was handled poorly. I still don't think it's enough to disqualify them from getting my vote, though. No one else has done anything remotely close enough to warrant my vote more than they have, and I'm not myopic enough to not vote.

I would call being the presidential candidate a bit more than just being a member.

The FF+ is the only other political party that has also taken government to court over the e-tolls. Just another reason they are getting my vote this year - see FF+ part in http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Hands-off-Madonsela-JPSA-20140326

Yeah, but she had to be a member to be the Presidential candidate.

Exactly, they should have waited until she was officially a member and all other piece of the puzzle were in place before announcing the deal. They rushed it out, and screwed it up. Is there anybody here that actually thinks that the DA is better off today after the AGANG failure, than it would have been if it had simply never happened?

I think it would have helped their image against those that think DA = apartheid. As a party with a black presidential candidate wouldn't do that. Just the effort shows they bringing change.

No, but as I said, it's not even close to being a big enough scandal for me not to consider them the best option among those available.

That's just an elections publicity stunt, like most anti-government stances they take. The DA is a great proponent of Public-Private partnerships and E-tolling is exactly that! You need mass-based organizations that have consistently opposed the privatization of public services for the benefit of business (see my signature) if you are to have a real voice against E-tolling. Not actors or chameleons like the DA.

lol, the irony. As if your cult's building of a house in Nkandla (which is falling apart, btw) wasn't an election publicity stunt.

And none of the 3 in your signature have done a thing about e-Tolling other than walk through the streets aimlessly and write press releases.

It's a toss up between the EFF and FF+ for me... just cannot decide where I will place my vote :(

All good and well but opposition without action doesn't cut it. Which others have taken the stance DA has? Besides, privatisation is not the problem, corruption is.
