Nope. A party that's as empathetic as a snake will not change the country for the better.
That's your opinion and you are entitled to one, I disagree though.

May I ask what DA policies specifically you don't agree with?
The DA is a lot better than the alternatives IMO. Each to his own, but I would give the DA a chance they have done a lot of good in the Cape and continue to do so.

Most of the supporters I know are rural, down to earth black people trying to make a better country. I would hardly call them arrogant. Are you still basing your judgement on the 2009 elections? In most parts of the country the DA has more than doubled in size... and that support has not come from white people.
I guess some people are still stuck in the past.

If you look at almost every major DA event over the last year or two, you will see that white people are a minority at a lot of these events.
How I see the results of this poll.
DA - 152 Votes (Glad to see we have so many rational minded people on this forum with the country’s best intentions at heart)
EFF and ANC - 8 Votes (Still stumped anyone can vote for the ANC after all the blatant corruption that is exposed daily. EFF is just a racist organisation that will kill this country. So we have 8 complete morons in this forum IMO, don't really care if you disagree)
The rest of the parties are irrelevant, I wish that people would realise voting for these tiny parties who aren’t going to win is not what we need right now, we need a strong opposition to the ANC and DA is pretty much the only hope.
I have a feeling that the people voting FF+, Agang ect. do so because they are probably annoyed with the DA because perhaps they did something that you don't agree with but I think people need to give the DA a chance. IMO right now they are our only hope of saving this country.
Pretty much all of them. The DA policies resemble that of the ANC in most respects and I dont believe those policies are the right ones to begin with. The country needs new ideas and not better ways to manage current policies IMO.
But to be specific, take education for example, IMO their approach is to manage the teachers better and revise carriculum to something of that effect. My belief is that a total overhaul is needed that should start with the immediate increasing of the pass rate for example.
I believe BEE is not working and needs to be either scrapped or a sunset clause put on it. The DA says they can manage the current one better, even though somehow they want to remove measurements. Dont know how you measure performance without a target in any job, but thats how they wanna do it.
Affirmative Action should stay though, our economy is not transformed by any stretch of the imagination.
Land reform too should stay, but not in the hands of the ANC. And seeing as though the DA prefers to redistribute state owned land and not land that was forcefully taken in the past and sold to private landowners, I dont trust them either with land reform.
From a policy perspective that covers my major ones. From how they conduct themselves, they seem to me to not be sincere and often get caught out where camps within then are evident and another one is that they say merit should count more in jobs and not race and yet in their structures, they are happy to bring in inexperianced people of color as and when it suits them IMO
I hate this line of thinking. It seems like the DA really wants to country to be about only the ANC and DA. I see it on this forum, with the 'vote DA or you're a retard' approach. I see how other parties are called useless. Most of all, Zille's plan to use constituency based voting, instead of proportional representation. That will be the single biggest step to killing other parties.
They have less opportunity to be corrupt given that they control only one of nine provinces. The same applies to performance.I agree with you on this. DA's policies are just minor changed to the ANC, only the DA is much less corrupt and more performance driven.
This is pretty much why most countries in the world have a duocracy (?), which doesn't really contribute to a true democratic society. They convince the voters that voting for anyone else is a wasted vote, twist the rules and gerrymander to ensure a third party cannot possibly enter the fray, and take turns at power.
The libdems faced the same problem in the UK for decades, until people were fed up by both ruling parties and ended up being kingmakers in the last election. While the coalition hasn't really worked out for them, they have been able to institute some change in government policy.
The point is, if you are unhappy with the ruling party, you don't have to vote for the 2nd party whose policies you don't agree with, and you aren't an idiot for voting for a smaller party. You must vote though, if only to reduce the majority of the big boys and their bully supporters

Not my place to tell people who to vote for...
*flame suit on, check, running shoes on, check, laces properly tied, check*
Just been looking at the results thus far. See there is around 8% planning on voting for 'Other' parties. Not my place to tell people who to vote for but seriously? Our current government has clearly shown that it's unable to govern this country in the way it should be done. They cannot be removed from power, not this time round, but one can ensure that the decisions made are made under proper scrutiny from an opposition who can and will actually do something about it i.e. vote against things that are inherently not good for the country.
Other probably means unable to vote, not eligible to vote, or too lazy to vote. (most will probably be the latter).
Since I got a DA spam e-mail
Wut?
I like the current government and the Prime Minister and shall vote to return them as her majesty's government.
I remain however largely indifferent to African politics despite the urging of my cousin on facebook.
