Mitoma is the newest musical creation from the same two happy Scotsmen behind the Altered:Carbon project

Satellite Hive is the second album from Mitoma, one which sees the Scottish duo welding together disparate elements of electronica to form a beautifully contorted album. Subtle tones shift through airless vacuums and considered glitches spark in and out of existence to unbalance straight up beats. An album that twists and turns through light and dark and sturm und drang to confuse and pacify you while pushing electronica ever onwards.

Various Artists – Sunday Vol2 (Blue Tunes Recordings)

DJ Creator has a lovely set of progressive trance tunes lined up for you so get out the sunblock because we are going stomping. Osher's "Summer Good Bye" is a very lively start and "Ilite" by Popart kicks it up into top gear with massive banging beats. Osher makes another appearance with a remix of "Desire" by Liquid Soul a track with a beautiful melody and oh so sexy vox. Zyce & Flegma are progressive experts and once again have all the sounds in the right places with beautiful voice and djembe drumming in the wonderful "Dimension". The stunning "Dusty Groove" by Macedonian Egorythmia (Boban Lazovski) has a cathedral echo and is then followed by a more upbeat tune by Sideform, the duo from Serbia. The vox sounds strangely German in the groovy "Flashlight" by Double Click & Numb and then a real German title comes next, "Ein Tag in Hamburg" by Hanzo & Clufe with Japanese sounds. Sven Snug (Oliver Sven Krebser )hands outs some disco beat in "Your Eyes" and NOK ends the album with a darker progressive tune remixed by Haldolium. The last track was my favourite by far, mixing progressive with menacing. Recommended.

Sweet list, right up my alley especially a couple years ago. All brilliant artists who've moulded my appreciation and current tastes (which I think will stay for ever). I should compile a list of more modern artists some time. I would suggest going back page by page, most of my posts focus on this type of Electronic music.

I ****ing hate house.

Yeah, me too. House, brain-dead trance and commercial "let's-get-a-random-girl-to-sing-inane-crap" rave style music blows. Pisses me off when I tell people I like electronic music, "oh like Cicada?"
