just because italy and france have been strong in the past does not mean their current team playing is strong

i feel that france is actually worse than romania, now you could say romania a better team ATM

i will see how the dutch perform against a good team not a big team A GOOD TEAM

so you think france is better than romania? yet france finish below romania

france is no better than romania and not better than greece

1 point 3 games 6 goals against them and they scored 1 goal

plz dont tell me france are a good team, they are big team in world soccer but ATM they suck something bad and italy is not far behind them

i dont need you to take me seriously, i know france are about the poorest or one of the poorest teams at euro 2008 and italy during the group stages are right there with them

Good to see my boys show character. Now the real thing starts. Knock out rounds are totally different compared to group stages.

On the red card its a clear red. Abidal is the last man he denies a clear goal scoring opportunity , its the right decision.

I wonder if Domench now regrets leaving trezguet,frey and mexes at home.
 
The problem with the Dutch, Spain, and Portugal is that they might just be too confident. There is nothing to improve in their squad.

As for Italy, they know they have to work harder and improve on their poor performance - that might just give them that confidence to go for broke.

Unfortunately for Italy, they won't have Pirlo and Gatusso in the middle of the park due to suspension. I wonder who's going to start in their places.

I suspect Massimo Ambrosini will start
 
France is not France without Zidane it seems, never seen them play so bad.... ever!
Nederlands are good, but I still wouldnt put all my money on them.
Sweden looks just as good, will be a good game, Ned VS Sweden.
 
yea jk france may be BIG TEAM but in this comp they have been one of the worst :), just shows you cannot live in the past

italy will now become so strong and could end up in the final

funny how italy can play so crap in the group stages but lift their game in once off games :), good character i suppose, come through when they really need to

I never liked that guy even in the previous WC. He looks gayish to me! :D

They were bad in the 2002 WC as well.... and err again without Zidane!:) They finished last in their group.

3 of my teams are in the quarters!
I want Portugal, Italy, Nederlands and Turkey to make the Semis!:)

Lets not start a debate but seriously man. Dont be daft! To say France is worst that Romania judging them on three games is just insane!!!

Italy as well. Let me guess, when Italy had such a poor start to the World Cup - you probably said that Romania was better than them as well.

I dont support France and i hate Italy. They are both POWERHOUSES of world football. Even on a bad day, they will still beat you. They have so much depth and talent in both squads, if they not on form today - they will be on form tomorrow.

So the Netherlands deserve to be on top there at the moment cos they beat two of the best teams in the business. Nobodys is living in the past. Play France in a few weeks time, i will put money on it that they will win. You judging teams based on 2/3 games! I judge them based on their history as a football nation!

i dont judge teams based on their past, i judge a team based on current performance and france are worse than romania in this tournament no doubt about it

on the italy topic i knew they would get through, they never play well in group stages like i have been saying, italy will now play like the team we know and love

yes italy have played worse than romania in the group stages so i also think romania has been the better team, italy just had a bit of luck with mutu and the fact they had to play one of the poorest teams in the comp to get through :)

o kule remember i have said romania are better than both france and italy in this comp, stop going on about this or that and they big teams, in this comp neiter team is better than romania

If France had to play Romania today, i would put MONEY on France to win it. I remember having this same debate on this forum regarding Germany. Where someone said the Germans are not good, all their wins are from the past. They cant match todays teams. *yawn*

Italy were lucky to be in the Euro's same way they were LUCKY to win Australia in the WC.

Romania has never been better than France. So cos they lost two games, they must be worse than Romania and Greece in your books.

Oh someone shoot me. This logic is ridiculous!

Gattuso has been poor the whole season. Ambrosini or Aqualani can replace him.

Pirlo is the big loss . Don't really have someone similar to him since Donadoni decided to leave motolivio out of the final squad.

The knock out stages always bring out the best in the Italians and Germans that's why they are the two most successful european teams.

Lets see if holland and the spanish can keep it up or whether they fall when the pressure is on like in the past.
 
With that logic, when Brazil lost 3 consecutive games i wonder if everybody thought that Greece or Romania are better than them :D

NEVER EVER FORGET ABOUT THE PAST!!!!!!! I remember debating with you and the United crew, when you said that United are greater than Real Madrid. Most of the users in the debate never even knew that Madrid won 9 CL cups!!!!!! After that, their perception of Madrid changed slightly.

The past is what makes a club or country. Brazil wont just wake up one day and become crap. As with France and Italy. They dont just happen to become weaker than Romania or Greece. Fact is France will walk Romania if they were to meet again soon. I will put money on it.

and i dont even like France!

i do say that united played better football last season than all 3 of them, i dont care how big you are or have been when stating a fact about a current comp

this all started when you said that the Dutch never had any real compeition. Yet they played ITALY and FRANCE!!!

You reckon that Greece and Romania are better. :D

I call that crap! They are not better, they were never better. So what France lost 2 games. It happens. This is football. To judge them on that games and say that France isnt a top team anymore is stupid and you thinking like a United supporter :D

Greece isnt better than Italy or France. The quiker you learn the facts about football the better. History plays a big part. It one of the most important facts teaching us that you cannot write a team off, kinda like what u doing ;)

how did that stop them not winning a game and going out?

when the french look back they are going to say in euro 2008 france assembled one of the worst french teams in the history of french football

while the dutch may have played 2 massive teams, in terms of the quality at the moment of both teams they suck

dont think i can remember a poorer french team

so i should not write france off in this comp? they are out how can i not write france off in this comp ?

guess the past has nothing to do with current comps :)

now even though italy played poorly in the group stages, they will be fighting for this euro :) cant write italy off they are come back kings :)

France last night even though they were a man down, loss their top player and had to resort to a defensive formation because of the sending off, were still able to attack Italy and looked most of the time the better side.

Italy after scoring their goal were all sitting back trying defend a 1-0 goal and all in all were playing negative football.Their striker had 100 chances to increase the lead but was poor and I dont see him improving.

I dont think France were the weaker side in the match and lost because of losing their main player and having someone sent off.

Lol you funny. What game did you watch?
Fair enough they lost a key midfielder and a defender, but they were nowhere near the same league as Italy last night.
You think Luca Toni will carry through his bad luck in the quater finals? I doubt it. Toni with Del Piero will give the Spaniards a hard time!! youll see.
 
yes maybe comparing to greece is a bit harsh in this comp

romania a bad side? i dunno hey they almost put out 2 massive teams in world football , cant call that a bad team

they are decent enough, just lack quality, they did have enough quality though to almost beat italy and draw with france :)
