With the games "filling" in for us footy fans during the European summer, what are the predictions, the big winners and the even bigger losers?

Dont mention England, they are already the biggest losers in this compo IMHO.

I'd say either Portugal or Spain, but this is footy, lets see!

My teams are

Spain
Sweden
Germany

If they play each other, i will be neutral.

@ Stefan, Germany = dark horses? You funny :D

lol @ Germany being dark horses they have more silverware than most European countries and made the semis of the world cup.

Henrik Larsson has been selected for a swedish friendly so looks like he may be in the cup.

ac milan have more silverware than any other team but does that mean they are good at the moment?

nope it means they have been strong in the past

If AC Milan plays in the CL next season (which they are not) Will that mean they are the dark horses of the compeition :D

I see we have some comedians on this forum :D

Germany are not dark horses, they made the damn WC semi final 2 years ago.

Oh, and Real Madrid have more silverware than any other team ;)

Germany have made the semis of the last big world tournament.Lost 1 match in the qualifiers and have the 4th highest goal scorer of the qualifiers.

They not strong in the "past", they strong at the moment.

This is getting close now, and now that we know that Hull is in the EPL, all the excitement is focused on this.

Any more predictions?

Germany
Spain
Greece = dark horses

Should be good. Must say, laughing at England with their friendlies for nothing he he.

Also, will watch Portugal in knock outs just to see THAT twat cry when they lose :)

I have been avoiding this thread because i didnt want to get phsyced up way before the tournament starts.
I will be rooting for spain and holland because Reina,Torres,Arbeloa,Alonso, Babel and Kuyt play for them. But i think that Portugal will take it.

Saturday's Friendly matches:

Spain are going to do it this time.

Flamini called into French squad

Former Arsenal midfielder Matthieu Flamini has been called into France's Euro 2008 squad following concerns over the fitness of captain Patrick Vieira.

Vieira, who has missed the last two warm-up games, sat out training on Friday with a suspected thigh injury.

Flamini, who will play for AC Milan next season, had been included in an initial provisional 30-man squad but did not make the final cut of 23.

France have until 8 June to make any changes to the squad in case of injury.

"Flamini is arriving today at Clairefontaine (France's training camp) and is added to the 23-man squad," team spokesman Yann Le Guillard said.

Le Guillard added that no French player had pulled out of the squad to make way for Flamini, who will join AC Milan on 1 July from Arsenal, and he will fly with the squad to Switzerland on Wednesday.

Spain all the way
Fernando Torres u Legend!!!

Glad to see lots of people are backing spain this year.

Germany but because of their overall history and their big match temperament. Their match form of the friendlies leading up to the tournament has been very questionable but as we know them, never write them off.

Portugal would be my 2nd choice with Italy and Spain thereafter. Spain have a great side this time round, but history has never favoured them and could repeat itself once again. Italy - well cause they are current WC holders and that is all.

Nonetheless, I wouldn't be placing any huge bets and I'm looking forward to a very open championship. Surprises are always abound, like Greece and Denmark winning it previously. Also, have I been wrong not mentioning France?

How does Spain deserve to win a tournament?? They always fail to perform at the tournament itself. They always look like world beaters in the qualifiers then exit in the quarters or round of 16 in the real thing.
