Whenever I read those articles, I find it useful to compare to the "real world" type stuff.

I have a remote server - and I try back it up locally every now and then.
It takes about 16 hours to download the whole compressed backup on my 512 line.

If I have a 4MB line, it would take 2 hours. Thats 120 mins.
on a 8MB line, it would take 60 mins.
on a 24mb line, 20 mins!!

So, what I currently do on a Sunday, once a week, I could do while drinking a cup of coffee - and do it daily.

Heh - its local. And around 3-4GB a shot.
So, 3*30GB local accounts would cover me nicely.
Considering the cost of data loss, it is nothing.
