A “lot less”?
A quick look shows the F-15EX at $29k per hour and the F-35 at $30k per hour. In US military budgets that is small change lost down the couch.

It probably adds up when you considered those savings over a timeframe of decades.
The pictures here are eye opening regarding that coating...That relates to the service life rather than the operating cost. I didn’t look into whether any increases in service life are planned, but bearing in mind the F-35 has a stealth coating that degrades its likely always going to have a lower life span than a conventional skinned jet.
Of course in a real shooting war the service life of the F-15EX is likely to be a lot less than a F-22 or F-35…
The Greeks are looking to buy F-35s now
WASHINGTON, January 26, 2024 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Greece of F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Conventional Take Off and Landing (CTOL) aircraft and related equipment for an estimated cost of $8.6 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
The Government of Greece has requested to buy up to forty (40) F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Conventional Take Off and Landing (CTOL) aircraft; and forty-two (42) Pratt & Whitney F135-PW-100 engines (40 installed, 2 spares).
Well they kinda picked the S-400 system over the F-35.Turkey will be miffed.

Why would you want to buy an F35 when you can't fly in heavy rain and if struck by lightning could explode.
It's a massive fail.
Let me tell you about the S-400 missile battery that Turkey bought instead... I also have a horse to sell youWhy would you want to buy an F35 when you can't fly in heavy rain and if struck by lightning could explode.

Yeah, all the Western countries are stupid to buy the F-35... its a shyte plane and USA can't engineer fsck all anymore.

Pentagon won’t lift F-35A lightning restrictions after hardware and software fix
“Due to additional findings earlier this year, this upgrade will provide an improvement, but is insufficient to lift the lightning restriction,” an F-35 spokesman told Breaking Defense. “Lightning restrictions will be lifted when all safety concerns are resolved or acceptably mitigated.”
WASHINGTON — The most widely used version of the F-35 still can’t fly in lightning, and despite hardware and software modifications, the Pentagon doesn’t have a path forward to lift ongoing flight restrictions.
Have you guys just got a general America-is-the-bestest-ever-at-everything attitude or you just ignorant on the topic?
I have been aware of this issue for a long time and I don't follow this sort of thing, so I really don't know why you aren't aware of this massive failure.
