The F-35 thread

Oh I know, but its fun watching it froth at the mouth and dig the stupid hole as deep as possible.

You're the one frothing at the mouth about a US made aircraft that came into service in 2013 and couldn't fly in lightning until 2022  Geniuses behind that creation. No wonder you love it so much....

America can do no wrong. Yeah.....

Eish, when you guys finally work out that is the furthest thing from the truth, it will be too late. Enjoy.

So I assume the Checkmate and Felon are better aircraft rather than things like the F-15EX or Gripen E.

No, you said it couldn't.

Oh jeez. No, my whole argument is that it can't.

I was talking from the FunnyBunny's perspective because he says it can.

So since it's entrance into the field, it only found a correction for the problem in 2022, and even then it still can't fly.
Might want to look elsewhere if your battle happens to take place in a country where lightning is present.....

You really struggle with comprehension don't you?

Small side note is the F-15EX is a missile truck designed to work in conjunction with the F-35 and F-22.

Your point doesn't stand.
It can fly in lightning, but for safety reasons (and the Pentagon tends to err on the fscking ridiculously over the top safety) because surprise surprise surprise, a Pilot is a very fscking expensive and time consuming resource to train.

There’s always one “genius” who picks up on an issue and then posts, even though he she doesn’t really have the full facts. You just found one…

Wait, so you believe the amazing F35 can fly during lightning?

Yes, the F-35 can fly during lightning, one derivative, the F-35A has a safety provision due to issues with a component (the OBIGGS) which wasn’t working to the required standard, many aircraft fly near lightning without having any form of inert gas protection in their fuel tanks (the OBIGGS) however the USAF decided to err on the side of caution while upgrading OBIGGS in the F-35A, this will be completed by next year so odds are the majority of A’s have likely already been upgraded.

What are you smoking? You said it couldn't fly in lightning, period, and then said it couldn't do so only up until 2022.

Now you are saying it can't again.
