You can pick these screw caps up from Woolies for R50, they're very tasty.

I've been for wine tastings to Alto a couple of times (3 at least). Loved it every time. It's a tad expensive though in the shops.
Luckily here in the Cape we can get good wines for R40 per bottle less (at least) than you poor sods in Gauteng.
Haha, I was actually looking at Fat Bastard. It sounds so unsophisticated, though.![]()
I need help! SO is coming over for dinner tonight and I have no idea what white wine to buy. Preferably not Durbanville Hills because I overheard a conversation between him and a winemaking student and they were talking down about the wine. I had a look at Haute Cabrière Chardonnay/Pinot Noir , but it's R90 a bottle and I'm on a student budget.
I rarely drink wine and when I do it's usually red wine, so I don't know white wines at all. I don't much care for the brand or anything, as long as I just don't look like a completely uncultured cretin.
Alternatively, does anyone know who in Stellenbosch sells Hidden Valley's wines? I don't feel like driving out to the farm itself. (edit: nvm, their site says they're out of stock anyway)
I have absolutely no idea. I drank some of his last weekend but I neglected to check the label. I wouldn't describe it as light and fruity, though. I know that's not much help, but I'm predominantly a beer drinker. I very seldomly drink wine so I don't know it at all.
I think maybe I should just tell him to bring a bottle of wine and I'll take care of dinner. I think I might be in way over my head here.![]()
