Reminiscent of the 1993 Triple White Fox body feature Mustang, the 2022 Ford Mustang coupe Ice White Edition gives customers the option to add even more head-turning style to the world's best-selling sports car. Ford made just 1,500 Triple White Fox body feature Mustangs - all convertibles.
Available on Mustang EcoBoost® and GT Premium fastback models, the Mustang Ice White Edition comes lacquered exclusively in Oxford White and features unique iced-out taillamps, plus heritage-inspired 19x9-inch wheels in matching Oxford White with machine-surfaced pockets. Just like on the Ice White Edition Mustang Mach-E, the Ice White Mustang coupe comes with Oxford White pony badges and fender badging.
The black and white interior features Oxford White leather seat inserts front and rear, plus Oxford White leather door panels. An aluminum appliqué on the dash and white accent stitching on the center console, door panels, shifter boot, headrests and more add to the cool cabin environment.

Ford adds White Edition Appearance Package to Mustang and Mustang Mach-E ranges
The 2022 model year will see the Mustang Ice White Edition Appearance Package being added to the Mustang Mach-E and Mustang coupe options lists. All white is the theme of the day here, with unique styling features both inside and outside giving an interesting “iced-out” look to the pair of “pony cars”. This will mark the first time in 28 years that Ford has offered a white-on-white Mustang and the first time ever for the coupe.
The striking white-on-white look was first pioneered by the original 1993 Triple White Fox body Mustang, and this new appearance package harkens back to that now collectible vehicle. The appearance package will be available on Mustang Mach-E Premium, Mustang EcoBoost Premium and Mustang GT Premium vehicles.

The Ford Mustang California Special has been unveiled as a limited model for 2022. The new trim brings with it some additional kit and unique styling elements.
The Ford Mustang California Special continues a traditional offering that has existed since the first-generation model. The one found here pays homage to the original with a blacked-out front grille, side racing stripes and a rear fender scoop.
The heritage-inspired “GT/CS” side stripe trademark traces from the front fender to the signature rear fender scoop. A California Special badge in Ebony Black and Race Red script is placed on the boot while the honeycomb grille with “GT/CS” badge further provides a unique look. A larger front splitter from the GT Performance Package is a hint to the coupe’s “handling prowess”.
A performance rear wing from the GT Performance Package is available for the fastback Ford Mustang California Special, while spoiler delete is standard for the convertible. The California Special wears unique five-spoke 19-inch painted machined wheels. Under the bonnet, this special edition features a signature strut tower brace with California Special badge atop its 5,0-liter V8 engine.

Ford said this Wednesday that it would have two new trims for its Mustang: a (first-ever!) Stealth Edition, and also a California Special but with the GT Performance Package. Sorry, the full name of the Stealth Edition is the Stealth Edition Appearance Package. Ford apparently had a look at all the different trims Dodge makes for Challenger and Charger and decided they wanted in on that too.

I’m not looking for a winner in this test. We don’t all have the time or energy that Gary does, but the method does appeal to me. It’s clear he has lavished a lot of time and love on his Camaro, getting it to look the way it does and feel the way it does. The CS850 feels less individual, which is a peculiar thing to say about a Mustang, given that they’re rare and special in the UK in the first instance, even before they get bespoke modifications and 850bhp. And it’s a very complete, very competent, well-rounded package: a proper product.
If it were my choice, I could more easily imagine my car’s bonnet open, outside a big garage on a warm summer’s evening, with a bunch of my own tools resting on the wing with the golden-hour sun warming my face, happy if envious of warmer winters and wider open spaces.

What happens when you have a V8-powered muscle car in a market that is headed towards a zero-emission, electric future? You lose power. Ford Authority reports that a bulletin sent to Ford dealers details changes for the 2022 Mustang, mainly a loss of power for two of its V8 models.
Both the GT and the Mach 1 drop by 10 horsepower: The Mustang GT drops from 460 to 450 horsepower while the Mach 1 gets 470 horsepower after previously boasting 480. Both also feature a drop of 10 lb-ft of torque. Surprisingly, the GT500’s 5.2-liter supercharged V8 stays at its whopping 760 hp. Emissions regulations have also seen that the excellent Performance Package is now strictly for retail ordering only.
Stricter emissions regulations, specifically Low Emission Vehicle (LEV III) regulatory emissions requirements are the culprit behind the loss. Introduced in California in 2012, these regulations create more stringent emissions requirements through 2025. A Ford spokesperson confirmed to Road & Track that these requirements are behind the reasons for the slight loss of power and torque on the Mustang for 2022.

Should I buy one?
The Mach 1’s improvements can be felt on the road as well as on track, and they do nothing to dent the Mustang’s enduring muscle car appeal.
But while sales of plug-in hybrids and EVs are helping Ford balance its emissions output, it seems safe to say this won’t be the last of the breed - meaning you’d need to consider at least occasional circuit use to justify the £11,000 premium it carries over the standard car.
Then again, with the number of UK-bound naturally aspirated V8 sports cars now in single digits, the temptation to get one while you can remains strong.
