"The stakes are high, market domination is the prize and Ford is giving itself a little head start with its upgraded Ranger.

While Toyota's all-new Hilux only hits the scene at the beginning of next year, Ford is launching its new Ranger to the local media this week, although it's only hitting dealerships in November and Ford is remaining tight-lipped on pricing until then. The company has, however, spilled the beans on the new local line-up and practically every other detail you'd want to know."

I see the XLT & Wildtrak models have a 8" Sync2 system as standard. It's not hard to surmise that this system will be the most advanced it any in our local bakkie options. The flagship Wildtrak gets some advanced safety tech as well.

Place your bets on the pricing now

No comments on the crazy local pricing of the Everest.

Not sure about that grille, but I do like the new interior, improvement here definitely.

There should be a law and it should be part of the CPA that a new model is declared at least 1year in advance for anything over R50k.
I wish I had one and feel for those with newly purchased ones.

I do like though.

It's the Ford Ranger. It's worth it's weight in gold.

But seriously, how does it price against its competitors? That would be telling.

Here you go...each of its key rivals with their respective flagships...

Navara has properly powerful 3L V6 diesel

So yes the updated Ranger is pricey...but quite easily the most advanced Bakkie on the market.

Not very well for the last model and even worse I am going to assume for the new one.
I am considering one but I'm not willing to pay a premium for a Ford.

@FiestaST So Nissan Navara is the oldest - had no updates or new model releases - but has the highest RRP ?

Other than that, the Ranger prices well against its competitors.
